ive tried and tried to reset my homelink so that it will take my garage door code with no luck.

Im starting to think theres no power going to the buttons.

When i press a button, is the little led supposed to light up?

The buttons themselves light up but not the LED

There is a button on your opener that is associated with synchonizing the door opener rolling codes to the Home Link rolling codes. Most door openers have instructions on thier websites, so does Home Link. http://www.homelink.com/programming/programming.taf

    Re: Homelink not working.

When you press the buttons, ANy one of the 3, if it doesn't light up (red), then your homelink is

    1. not present (that makes me think the previous owner might have been involved in a traffic collision).
    2. Homelink is fried.

The homelink unit is located inside the front bumper closer to the passenger side. If you get a chance pop open the bumper. Chances are whoever installed the homelink back into the vehicle did not plug in the wire connector harness.
You mentioned the buttons are lit. The buttons should light up when you turn on your parking/low-beam headlights. This is part of your ambient lighting/interior lighting system. It does not reflect the functionality of the homelink unit itself. But if the LED doesn't light up in response to the buttons then read 1 and 2 above.

Pretty sure there is a fuse for it too... maybe check that out as well. Also note that it only works when the key is in the accessories position.

sometimes its your garage system. Homelink works for the gate at the front of my neighborhood but not my garage doors.

    Re: Homelink not working.

what would most likley cause the LED not to light up? Power bot reaching the buttons in the visor or the unit itself being discnnected? I wild have assumed that the led would light up whether or not the unit worked
