    Loud whistle

I have a loud whistle that I think is coming from my fuel pump. It also is making a buzzing sound. It has been happening since it got below 50* yesterday. Is it just because it is cold or because my fuel pump is going out? I have made another thread about my car running goofy and now I am wondering if it's been this the whole time.

Sounds like the filter. Check out AudiProtein's problem. Mine is doing the same thing. It's like a tone sound or something. I'm changing my filter this morning after I get on some Xbox first.

    Re: Loud whistle

^^^ I actually was also getting this whistle sound between 1800-2500 rpms under the acceleration... Then a day after it was gone, but instead it was rattling a lot at idle. My mechanic said that it is typical for our cars to have this sound for a while and then it dissapears (while the problem is still there). I guess it was my fuel filter. If u got a lot of miles and still a stock fuel filter, u better change one anyways.

    Re: Loud whistle

I'm in the middle of changing mine now. I needed to take a break cause I'm having a hard time disconnecting the lines. I'm sure it's something simple, I'm just short on patience right now.

Yeah, yesterday, rattle+sound is gone, it also seems like car runs a bit better (maybe just a so-called "after mechanic" symptom) :)))

    Re: Loud whistle

Changed mine today. My car sounds GOOD again!!! Everything sounds healthier, smoother idle, no more whistle/humming, all around sounds better. Now I have a boost leak I need to trace down though.
