Re: Any interest in K04 turbo sets?

Well we could offer the sets we have right now for $2200 + S&H....as far as more sets, I can certainly work on that pricing. It'll all be based on how many are interested.

Let's make a list of those SERIOUSLY interested (ie ready to buy) and we'll go from there.

Porsche stopped using BW turbos? This is news to me.

I was hoping if you could get BW k04 turbos, from a BW supplier, you could get BW 997 wheels, assuming they still made turbos for the 997 that is.. and then make this hybrid for me since Blouch doesn't seem to want my business. Figured it was worth a try.

We only sell OEM K04's (and K03's and K16's and K24's, etc). We don't produce any hybrids, sorry.

If you need other 3K parts, I can certainly try to get them for you but a part number would certainly help.

i would go in on the buy but it seems that K04's are way too inflated right now. since august Borg Warner dropped from $43 a share to $19 and the US dollar to Euro is $1.2 compared to nearly $1.6. I want to wait and see what the next few shipments look like from BW

exactly. I dont care about the BW share price, but the euro to dollar rate means if our prices for K04's change, the vendors are increasing their profits.

if we could get K04's for 2200 with the shit exchange rate, with it better now they should not be going UP in price.

Prices are ONLY going to increase (Bilstein prices just increased AGAIN). Why would prices drop with ever increasing metal/material costs, etc?

We have a few sets left near that price(+ S&H). LMK if you want one.

Re: Any interest in K04 turbo sets?

I'm not saying BW is dropping the prices. Example:

    Current:
    K04's @ 2400usd = 1920eur @ 0.8:1 usd:eur

    In July:
    K04's @ 2400usd = 1488eur @ 0.62:1 usd:eur

So lets say that BW was charging say.... 1200eur per set back in july that means we could buy them for ~1935usd.

Lets now say that BW's costs increased and they raised the price to 1300eur per set. That means at the current exchange rate we could buy for ~1625usd

SO. an extra $300 goes in your pocket just due to the exchange rate even factoring in BW increasing their pricing. Even if YOU increased your price by $100 you could still cut our price by $200 and come out even. Mind you i left your margins out of this hypothetical discussion.

Perhaps you're not aware how this industry tends to work...3K/BW USA is NOT going to pass on savings to us or others if the exchange rate improves. If anything, they put the extra $ in their pocket, not pass it on to us. It's just how it is.

...As was stated above plus material costs are FALLING, something about the down turn of the current world economic situation. The prices are just too high. Also realize these cars are 7-8yrs old and comming into the hands of younger drivers w/ limited budgets. Get resonable and you will probably start selling them. Oh, then there's gamble that after install you will be left w/ paper weights when they blow up.

So why would you buy them from BW USA?

BW's not gonna change their price in euros because of the USD exchange rate.

Go to the source, ALWAYS cheaper that way.

Also realize these cars are 7-8yrs old and comming into the hands of younger drivers w/ limited budgets. Get resonable and you will probably start selling them. Oh, then there's gamble that after install you will be left w/ paper weights when they blow up.
Keep in mind that immediate material cost decreases don't immediately equal completed product cost decreases. Pre-negotiated contract costs are involved so the manufacturers may not be able to decrease costs until the next contract goes into effect.

Also, VAG/Porsche/etc who use 3K/BW turbos in production vehicles have the first right of refusal for turbos. If there are any turbo components left, then 3K/BW aftermarket can use them to build K04's and the like. Many many many times in the past K04's have been on worldwide backorder because the vehicle manufacturers have used all of the turbo components and therefore there are no components left for the aftermarket side. As well, if there are any K04 components left, these turbos are usually sold at a higher price simply due to supply/demand.

Unfortunately just because a vehicle depreciates further, falls into the hands of younger drivers with more limited budgets, etc, doesn't mean that a component therefore costs less to produce. Sure, it'd be great to have parts prices drop as vehicle values drop, but I'm afraid this isn't reality.

As far as being reasonable in regards to prices, have you seen turbo sets advertised for lower than we're offering them for?
    Some quick research;
    PureMS, none offered
    ECS Tuning, $2601.64--none in stock
    VAST Performance, $2380
    Achtuning, $2399

There is a 12mo/12k warranty on new turbos. If there is a warranty issue with the turbo, it needs to be shipped back to 3K/BW for inspection per their policy.

BW's not gonna change their price in euros because of the USD exchange rate.

Go to the source, ALWAYS cheaper that way.
One can't buy direct from BW Europe--you HAVE to buy from one of their distributors. So, this adds other mark-up and transportation costs.
