    Re: boosted tech piping

Even if you could add one, i don't know if it would fit / lineup correctly on a B6.

i would LOVE to replace my ebay piping and couplers with something like this, welded metal pipe like the ones that come with some of the $1500 kits woudl be awesome too.

i think i'm just going to and up being the car to a local shop and have them custom weld a pipe for each side.

well how does the intercooler piping differ from b5 to b6? cause couldnt you just cut the piping and add in a map and dv bung?

actually i have a diode on my map sensor so couldnt i just leave it out and zip tie it out of the way under the hood? just an idea

    Re: boosted tech piping

i guess part of the reason i woudl be swapping to this is for the solid construction. modifying it and adding holes and connections is going to introduce possible leak areas, which defeats the purpose of getting this in my opinion, at least for me.

shop could make a custom set of pipes for me much cheaper i'm sure. i already have the map sensor flange on a section that can be reused and also a T for the DV connection.

    Re: boosted tech piping

bringing this thread back; i sent an email to boostedtech and this was there response:

"The hoses were made for the B6, but we were able to customize them for the B5 also. The greatest benefit of silicone hoses is their flexibility, especially for custom kits. To top it off, you'll never find a better price!"

I replied back asking for some install instructions and some more pics of the pipes installed, i also inquired about the map sensor flange placement and the DV hose bung, does anyone have any ideas of how they have it set up?

    Re: boosted tech piping

Barrett, you can easily connect the map sensor to the actual intercooler, all that has to be done is either 1) weld a flange to the end tank of the intercooler to accept the MAP sensor or 2) drill a hole in the endtank that will accept the map sensor and use some very high strength epoxy to hold it into place.

^^^yea please do so and 400hpa4 you got pmed. regarding the map sensor in the intercooler itself, can it be mounted in the endtank or what? and will it reach? do any other "kits" available have this issue, im not looking for another kit, just want to know how they go abouts it.

bringing this thread back AGAIN im having trouble finding a map sensor flange that will work with their 2.00" piping. the 42draft flange seen here, its for 2.25 to 2.5". Boostedtech sent me another email that showed me a custom made flange on a b5 seen here

if you get someone that knows how to weld they will be able to make the 42draft flange fit a 2" pipe.

Why the desire to change? Too many leaks?

    Re: boosted tech piping

So do you think that if i get a short piece of piping about 4 to 8 inches long, drill a hole and have the 42draft flange welded on, and just cut the boosted tech tubing and add it into the mix near the original location? how hard is it to cut silicone? with it shred? i may order the pipes soon even though i cant afford the core yet lol
