    Forge Splitter question

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So i received my Forge Split-R through D.C design's groupbuy. I wanted to see what settings people were using on the hybrid set up? Right now I have it 10 clicks away from being the tightest. But after doing some research on the AZ and google, people are saying the settings should lean more towards the soft side, as long as there isn't any boost flutter. So with 1 being the softest setting, and 56 being the hardest, I am right at 46 clicks. What are your guys settings with Stage 1+ set ups? I did see my gauge hitting about 24 psi in 5th gear,(peak of course) but my 3rd gear doesnt seem to boost as high....

Oh and the hybrid vavle is NOT loud at all, and I was expecting more of a sequential sound...maybe I need to spend more dough on a pointless intake? LOL

    Not loud at all?

I put mine in without making any clicks and its been making vibrating sounds for about four months since i don't have time ot adjust it. i think mine is loud enough but i wouldnt mind a SSQ. Maybe the tigether it is the less sound it makes?

to be honest Mike, I hated the sound of my Forge I liked your GFB wayyy better.I hated how the sound varied depending on the boost, I would much rather prefer a sequential sounds that only comes on at certain boost levels...I was hoping the Split-R would sound more like the GFB but now I cant hear anything!! Only when I am all alone on the road, which was a real downer..(I am on hybrid mode tho)

    Re: Forge Splitter question

I'm stage 1+, I have it at about 22 clicks. Honestly its starting to get annoying. Def would like a ssq better, but oh well. I hate how the nipple for the vacuum line doesnt spin, so when you adjust it you have to take the line off, so it doesn't get all twisted!

    Re: Forge Splitter question

i have my GFB Hybrid D-BOV running full BOV at MAX tightness, get a slight flutter, sounds awesome, not quite as loud as when i was running it at a softer setting with the huge PPPSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

    I'm on a stage 3 setup though.

    Re: Forge Splitter question

yeah the GFB sounded cool but it wouldnt hold boost, and if you didn't set it right the car would stall out. i said screw it and thats when i picked up the carbonio + R1..which i believe produces a really special sound, which of course sounded even better when i put the K04 in

    Re: Forge Splitter question

anybody know why flutter happens? too light of a spring, too strong of a spring? my guess is too strong, that or it has nothing to do with the spring. I'd like to get rid of my flutter if i could.

    Re: Forge Splitter question

yeah the turbo isn't surging that's for sure, I triple checked that after I first heard the sound. It was after bypassing the n249, which.. is made to reduce flutter haha

Mine's @ 25 clicks with GIAC FXK03. I was told by the Forge rep to set it that way. I havent messed with it, though since installing it.
Not loud enough? I think you people are insane. I turn heads every time I let off the gas (not intentionally).

my GFB has mood swings, I think she has 3 diff personalities and I can't figure what triggers which.

    With similar throttle, i get:

    1. Loud instant PSSSSH
    2. Inaudible Nothing
    3. Delayed soft PSSSH

I checked the setting and it's almost all the way tight and the bov is 100% out.

Ah well, I've learned to live with it and deal with it's mood swings, something we are all used to i'm sure.
