a4 3.0 chip

what chip would you other b6 3.0er's recommend? i have no idea what to get, and am skeptical about some of the sites that i have visited.

yeah, ive been hearing that from lots of 3.0 owners..the power gain isnt worth it at all...id rather spend my money on some new exhausts...

Good call, a chip on N/A car isn't going to net you more then 5hp which I would have trouble even feeling.

yeah, it removes my speed limiter, but im not moving back to germany any time soon, so i dont need to go over 130 mph

I'll second that. Most 3.0 exhausts don't provide much gain either. (until you go F/I) The sound might make it worth just doing the mufflers.

I did just the mufflers on my 3.0, I went with Magnaflow 14851's, which is a popular setup here. I was going to get a catback, then I realized for $1200 (Milltek anyway) I am looking at barely any power gains and the main reason that I wanted an exhaust in the first place was for looks and sound, which I got from just replacing the mufflers for a much lower overall cost.

i called its about 700 bucks, to ship your ecu and you get a stock chip too

i got the wett chip on a GB. I'd do it again if it was at the price that I paid.

the throttle resp was worth it. not much of a power increase.

yeah same for me...i would not be going for power gains but more of a looks and sound thing

I did a GIAC "chip", it's flashed via OBDII so no hardware involved. Slightly better throttle response and removed speed limiter (too afraid to test it). I paid $500, but in the end I dont really think it was worth it.

wow, $700 for a questionable 12hp + 10tq? might as well buy a K&N setup for like $100 because they supposedly offer somewhat of the same hp numbers! (we all know this isn't true though)

see, 16 for 280 isn't bad, considering other stuff you buy that won't do anything. Whether or not it's even close to really being 16 is debatable
