    Whats the difference between this intercooler, and an intercooler from APR, etc..?

    Any performance gains? Anything?

    doesn't look like that one comes with piping, don't know if apr does. BUT if I had to guess APR one s's a d. Other than that, size, weight, efficiency and probably everything else is different about them. I could probably find the specs for each one, but you can easily do the same via WWW.GOOGLE.COM

    oh and there are no performance gains. Intercooler is only to regain the power you're losing via heat.

    That is just a core while APR, Evolution racewerks, racetec, OCT, and ecode intercoolers all include A4 specific piping.

    The one pictured is just a core and comes with no piping, you would have to source all of the piping or have it made for you. The APR IC has both end tanks on one side which would make for more piping and most likely bad fitment. I have heard many negative things about the APR IC but have no first hand experience with it. Stick with a Racetec or ER and you will be fine.

    Maybe a dumb question (maybe not) but would there be anyway to buy that core and buy the piping from a higher end setup and have something half decent for not too much money? I know, that's an oxymoron, but it can't hurt to ask.

    Don't think anyone sells just the piping. You could have custom piping made at an exhaust shop or do the marine exhaust tubing and save a bit of money.

    if you just buy the IC piping off Ebay and find a local welder you could get it done on the cheap

    A FMIC does not add horsepower, it only recovers horsepower lost throught heat soak/ high IAT.

    Yea, I need to get the cheap mentality out of my head. I plan on going BT (GTRS) in the future so I probably wouldn't trust ebay piping. I'll most likely just get a Racetec or something similar.

    Thanks for all the responses. You might as well just get the core and do the piping yourself right? It's sooo much cheaper! So the intercooler itself is just the same as and other intercooler, just no piping?
