Pretty sure those aren't 5mm hex bolts... as mine have stripped like every damn bolt on my car so far. And yes, I had it fully seated before torquing.

Anyway it even appears that my vice grips are slipping on the bolts. I have the kind that you can tighten further by socket wrench, really can't see how they are slipping.

Anybody else struggle with removing this thing? I have ran out of ideas... too small of a space to bust out the dremel.

buy some quality tools. they're def a 5mm hex. try a snug fitting torx bit if you didnt damage it too badly already. also you can tap a 12 point socket onto the bolt.
