Chop off second stock muffler

So before you eat me alive I searched and apparently no one is very crafty. I want to simply chop off the second muffler and put 2.25in piping to the tail. Does any one have any sound clips or vids or any experience with the sound and if its trying a free mod. Even if it sounds like shit a magnaflow would be a couple welds away, so let me know if it sounds like a good idea, maybe even just for the good of the people so we know what it sounds like.

Chop it off, drive it for a week, and see if you like it.

I took my middle muffler out on my borla back when I had the stock turbo. Loved it. But that was will a glass pack muffler instead of a stock chambered muffler.

i ran around with just the resonator for a little while, and i liked it while it was like that. i should have taken a sound clip, but it really wasnt that bad. its definately better though, now that i have a magnaflow on there.

I drove a 2.8 with no rear muffler and it droned fairly loud.

Chop it off at a straight section of a pipe so later you can use those OEM clamps to reconnect the pipes.

BTW. I had to chop off a stock MK4 exhaust to install aftermarket and it's been laying outside in rain,snow etc. The cuts are not rusted and still silver.

I know tons of people that have just cut off their rear muffler and run that for a while. It doesn't sound that bad. I know when I did it, it was louder then stock obviously. But the drone sucked.

If you have new sport-style muffler waiting then let it rippp.
meaning on turbo engines it is ok and almost a must to make it easyer for turbo to breathe.
on V6 engine it is a no gogo.
had 12v V6 and made custom exhaust. 3" from the cats and they were sport cat-s. the car did not move anymore and the sound was like some old jet engine kinda mouning.
the idea is to make turbo engine breathe easyer on the front, what happens on the rear is not that crucial anymore due to the fact that exhaust gases are a lot colder and need less space.

I took the resonator out and ran just a magnaflow. I could only take it for 3 weeks before I put it back. Its loud and raspy

I'm running 2 straight through magnaflows in series. It's very quiet... everything altogether was probably $250 or so ($150 for mufflers, $100 for welding). I was worried that a single one would be too loud, but personally i think 2 is too quiet. Can't really hear the car rev.

I'm on 2.25" stock piping, 16" glasspack replaced the center res, and a universal magnaflow muffler at the back, oh and a PSi test pipe as well.

I cut both of my mufflers out and put in 2.5 in piping in to a universal magnaflow muffler, a little to loud but i'm to lazy to change it and i did feel a good amount of power gain on the butt dyno so all in all for $150 its worth it if you can stand a little loud exhaust other wise i am still going to have a real 3" made up at somepoint but this works for now

I have had a few different exhaust setups and deletions.....

for now I am stock because I am solely chipped, with just a few supporting mods...

I really dont want to make any noise if I don't have the power to back it....ya, the car is kinda quick....but not worth the draw of attention that a louder system will bring....

I also do alot of highway driving...and a drone is a nogo for me...

my newest Idea is to run 2.5" from the flexpipe into two magnaflow mufflers...im sure it will be quiet, but that's exactly what i am lookin for...I just want a crisp lowkey note....

I took the res out of my borla exhaust, put it back on after awhile, not sure why though lol. It may have been a bit loud, I might do it again, anyone else have done this and still has a sound clip lemme know
