A/C Stuck in Econ Mode - 2 codes - Please Help!!!

    Hey every one,

Ok, so we have a 2002 A6 2.7T Quattro. About 3 days ago the A/C just stopped working properly, all of a sudden it has gotten stuck in the Econ Mode leaving us Hot and Sticky inside the car. I can sometimes get it to work by turning of the car and restarting. The buttons are not stuck down, all fuses are good.

I have 2 codes in the Climate Control and they are:
    24.02
    23.12

I have searched high and low for what they mean and can't find anything. Anyone have any idea as to what they may be pointing me towards and have any ideas how I can fix this issue so we can stop sweating?

    Thank everyone!

    ~Joey

I don't know if this is correct , but found those in the repair manual
24 Cycling of the switches, absolute non-fluctuating
23 Cycling of the A/C Refrigerant High Pressure Switch (F 118)

Yeah, I found the same thing shortly after typing this thread and I was thinking the same thing. I am going to guess that the High Pressure Switch is probably bad. I haven't gotten the Bentley Manual yet, I have to order it today. Can you tell me if R/R of the High Pressure Switch requires the refrigerant to be drained and recharged?

If so I'll just take it in, if not I'll climb under there and do it myself.
    Thanks!

The pressure switch at the condenser is on a pressure tap with a valve core, you should be able to disconnect its lead, loosen it and then spin it off quickly, this will minimize your refrigerant loss, if you loosen it and begin to spin it off and the refrigerant does not stop leaking out you have no valve core , thus the entire charge has to come out. I haven't run into one yet without the core, GL

Does anyone know if this issue is covered under CPO?
