    Re: fog light help

    search button is your friend...

but ill explain either way. if the car is an '02 it should already be able to do it, just turn the headlight switch to the ambers(first step on the knob) and then pull it out one click. otherwise you will need to get a vagcom cable/software. im assuming you dont know what that is. its a cable/software that connects to your obdII port and lets you access the ecu. the full version of the software which gives you a lot more options to change is worth a decent amount of money whereas if you are only trying to change some minor things such as the fog lights you can go ahead and order a knock-off through eBay for around $25. if you do a search for vag-com mods you can find out what other types of things you can change and the full process for doing it. your other option is to post up and see if anyone in your area has one and is willing to help you out.

If you live in Socal.. Ill do it for you.. Its really simple otherwise, you buy the cable AGART was talking about and you go into the VAG-COM program and change your cars region to Canada. That way your ambers and fogs are on ALL the time, and when you turn the knob to headlights, the fogs turn on too...

On the Canadian setting the fogs are setup as DRL's so they'll be on all the time.

With just VAG-COM that is correct, they will remain on unless your key is in the off position. But, you can do this in combination with the VAG-COM mod to take care of it:

    http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...ght=longer+fog

The first time trying to rig it up my copper wire touched another pin causing the right headlight to constantly be on but I re-did the process being a little more careful and making sure the wiring was much tighter so as not to come loose and since then I've had no problems.
