    Re: SPS3

Boost is mode 3. Timing is mode 5. Didn't it come with an owner's manual?

    To get the settings uploaded:
-turn the key to the on position
    -plug in the sps3
-turn the car off after it beeps, I usually wait for it to beep 3 times
    -remove the sps3

    Re: SPS3

alright thanks, the instructions I got in the box said nothing about waiting 10 seconds, that's probably my problem

    Re: SPS3

ps, the instructions also said mode 3 was low boost and mode 4 was high boost, I had been changing them both to 8 as I didn't know why there were two boost settings.. so that's not the initial problem with what I've been doing.

    Re: SPS3

so a little update. Went out on my lunch break and tried the anti theft (mode 8). the car stalled out almost immediately on startup, proving that the sps works, turned anti theft off and it started up fine.

NOW - I've used mode 2 to turn on performance mode, and set b to 8 and t to 4 the same way that I had turned on and off antitheft... it made no difference, boost spiked at 19psi still (could actually be a boost leak, doing more logs tonight)

Is there any way in hell to see the t and b settings in the ecu with vagcom?

Mode 2 is only needed to use performance mode if you had previously switched to valet or stock mode.

You can log block 115 to see the requested vs actual boost. Log block 003 to check the timing and 020 for correction factors.

    Re: SPS3

yup thanks, gotta wait until tonight for logs. I'm hoping to be able to get blocks 003, 020, 115, 031, 032(?), and what the hell why not 001 again. VERMONT SUCKS FOR LOGGING DATA

//edit.. i tried mode 2, because theoretically ecode could have set sps to inactive?

    Re: SPS3

yeah, I saw your thread where you were having problems. You have the sps select plus though right? With the sps 3 I just had to key to accessories for 10 seconds, then insert for several beeps, then take the key out for 10 seconds before starting the car. Don't have a clue if there's a difference between the sps's
