    Exclamation Running Lean!!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!

THIS IS A SECOND GEAR PULL (I stupidly went out during rush hour thinking I could get a 3rd gear pull, so I WILL be getting a real pull later tonight ~4 hours)

Also my cfs are only showing for 2 cylinders!?

Does a 2nd gear pull show data this poorly? Kind of afraid to give it a 3rd gear pull if this data is even remotely close to being true.

Thanks for any input. 3rd gear pull coming in about 4 hours

    Re: Running Lean!!

That log is inconclusive. You'll need to do a nice 3rd or 4th gear pull.

    Re: Running Lean!!

    That is not a pull...

You are not even showing the lambda value...

Try putting it in third or fourth and slowly depress the throttle until it gets into boost, try holding it for at least 10 seconds.

Blocks 031 and 032 are relevant as to what the air fuel is. It is also nice to see the CF (block 020) and boost (Block 120)

ps. I thought I had a boost leak, but from what I can tell (VAGCOM noob) its meeting the requested boost. N75 the culprit?

    Re: Running Lean!!

You do not need to log 032, it is just the fuel trim and only needs to be looked at while the car is not running.

    Thumbs up Re: Running Lean!!

alright 31 looks good, which is a relief.
This was b8 t4? either way

    1. I'm guessing my n75 is what's stopping it from actually requesting more than ~18.5 psi? wanted to log 114 118 (n75 duty channels... I think) BUT my laptop died before I could do another run

    2. my cf's are still all 0's, so my timing needs to go up. unfortunately there's no good place to do a 3rd gear pull during the day (actually warm out) and must do my pulls when its only ~65 outside

So what to do about the boost now?

    Re: Running Lean!!

Dude, this is only a 6 second pull...you need to find a place to actually drive your car.

Which makes it a 8.5 second run seeing that your first stamp was .2 not .000.

Are you actually hitting 18psi? Unless your atmos pressure is lower then your 990 reading on your other log. Because 2100 mbar - 990 atmos = 1.11bar which is only 16psi. Your readings would need to be 2275mbar to be at 18.5psi.

    Re: Running Lean!!

A 2nd-4th gear pull is the only real way to see what your cf's are really doing. If I just did one 3rd gear pull I'd pull zero cf's. If I do a 2nd-5th gear pull, I'd hit 4-6cf's once I shifted into 4th or 5th... temps (egt's, iat's, oil, coolant, etc) have a great impact on your timing pull. The hotter the engine gets after repeated hammering on the throttle, the more timing you will pull.

Well lets also remember that your IAT's are going to go up much quicker as you run thru more gears because your at a much higher elevation. This also has an effect on how quick your CHT's go up and that also effects oil temps.
