custom intake question.

ok, i have an intake setup. And i love the sound and even most people say it doesn't, it feels like it has a little more pep with it. i know i need a heatsheild, im gonna fab on up or buy the one that an AZer sells.

anywayz my problem is that my car makes a pretty loud humming frequently when under load, and it has only done this since i put the intake on. i read and searched through thousands of posts and alot of them pointed towards the DV making a similar noise when the diaghram goes, so i changed the DV with a NEW 710N which is what was in there to begin with and i still have the same problem.

someone please help. the only thing i can think of is to get a better quality filter............TIA

go here, it is for a 02-05, but fit my 01 perfectly. MAF bolted right in snug. I'm gonna take the heat shield off tommorrow and see if the noise goes away and just buy the heatsheild sold here on AZ.

get a real cone filter lol. the one where it's got a cone shape in the middle. much more surface area for air flow. do you hear the humming with the car in gear or not or both? i think it's the heatshield too since it's an ebay item lol

it is a ''real'' cone filter?? maybe not brand name.....hummin happens in gear only, only while driving, it's on and off and definitely something to do with the intake......

there are many ebay items that everyone talked crap about and then someone tried it and everyone gets it.....i.e.= FMIC, i just happen to be the guy trying it out. i think it might b the heatsheild so it comes off
