I have a tiptronic as well. Get the GIAC, APR or REVO flash with the big injector file. (I prefer GIAC)
    Do an aftermarket Diverter Valve.

The car will feel like a different car. It wont be a monster, but it will pull harder and spool up much quicker. In my opinion, the way it should have came from the factory.
Put the gear selector in "S" for an added bonus. The sport shift mode holds the gear much better.
Thats all I can offer for ya.

Sure can. Technically speaking, 1+ is flashed with any supporting mod (Exhaust, FMIC, injectors, NoS (kidding ) )

Alot of people right away do the injector program along with the initial flash, though.

Tiptronic trans should be able to handle Big Turbo builds
    Maybe good for 350 AWHP?
There are others that can give you specifics, but a full Stage 1+ (flash/injectors/exhaust/intake/FMIC) or even Stage 2 (Full Stage 1+ /K04 turbo) can be done to a tiptronic car...no problem.

Dont count on 45 hp, though. More like 30hp/50 lbft gain and the injector program is around 40hp/85lbft improvement.
I think APR has ambition in their gain claims, but GIAC is more in tune with reality.

The one rarity with the 1.8T is that the factory intake is pretty damn effecient. People usually change it out for a cone filter or some other intake like Carbonio, but it's really for sound improvement. There are very minimal gains, if not losses (heat soak) with going cone filter.
A K&N filter on the other hand, installed in the factory intake box may yield some improvements.
Exhaust would help! Turbo cars LOVE to breathe and exhale more efficiently!

iunno none of the stuff i've done to my car was all that hard (never worked on a car before). Just to save you from posting redundant questions in the future, check out a4mods.com. Read through all those diy's whether you plan to do them or not (I find them quite interesting and informative)

What are you looking to buy? A flash, injectors and diverter valve?

    Flash:
For a flash to your stock ecu, like GIAC, you will have to take it to an authorized dealer. They will flash the car for you. It won't take very long at all.

I don't know of a company that gives customers the ability to flash their cars from home.

    Injectors:
I asked our technician and he said that someone who is fairly mechanically competent could tackle this on their own. I was not able to find a DIY to give you an idea of what the install wold entail, but i'm sure there is one out there.

    Diverter Valve:
I found this DIY for the DV install, although i'm sure there are many more out there. Take a peek at that and see if you think you can tackle the job. If not, you can have it done at the shop doing your flash or maybe another forum member will help you out.

Where in Maryland are you located?
