Finally a decent kill (for me anyway)

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
first off before anyone flips out about a little street race, i was on a six lane road at 1AM with virtually no traffic, and sober as i was the DD
and people usually dont want to race me because my car is debadged and looks fast + the few tools that do want to race really arent worth it (stock civic with a fart can or something like that)

i usually dont post stuff as my car is rather weak but my best friend had foot surgery and cant do anything himself so i took him out for a few drinks... anyhow he was pretty hammered ( i was DD) and on the ride home, this dude pulls up one lane across from me (three lanes on each side) with brand new CTS (not that fast i know) but my buddy was egging me on right away and of course i the windows were down... i told him hell no, that CTS will eat me alive... but he kept on and the CTS guy rolled down his window and started revving his up so i figured why not... i got a FE SS, surely it cant hurt it too bad... i revved to 6k and dumped as the light turned green, smoked him off the line by four lengths... i kept waiting for him to blow by me, but he stayed about 2-3 lengths back... we got to the next light and he congratulated me saying "damn i thought my car was fast ( i was laughing on the inside thinking how slow my car is) i just held up four fingers and said "four cylinders and four wheel drive baby!!" and i dumped it again...

anyhow im sure most of u will downplay my fun but i enjoyed it, it was more than likely his lack of driving skillZ, automatic tranny and heavy/weak v6 CTS but it still felt good...

then after dropped my friend off, some dousch in a cobalt SS(stock) and a RSX-S with header (he told me he had headerS) exhaust, CAI and ignition were messing around at a light and of course i would pull up in between them, we talked a few minutes and then took off... i took the RSX-S by two lengths, the cobalt SS was a little closer.... they were starting to gain but the FE SS lets me launch so much harder than them, i get 4 cars lengths ahead and they cant catch me....

Cool post. Nice that the other drivers were cool about it and not typical boy racer d-baggs.

yeah he must of launched it off of a building because thats the only way a stock a4 will gather the speed to beat one . I own both so I know that there is almost noway he could of won against a cts unless the other driver was not being serious.

Not all CTS are 340HP. Stop trying to ruin his kill. My friend just got an 08 and I think it's about 260 at the crank or so. There's obviously more option but the kid most likely had the base model or even the 300HP model but didn't get the launch that you did. Congrats man.

And you shouldn't feed into the d-bags here that have a problem with people having fun. It took you like a paragraph just to explain the road conditions and how safe it was. Again, congrats.

Your right the DI version is 304hp but even the 260hp version runs 0-60 in the mid 6's. Not trying to ruin his kill but him saying he beat a 08 cts is like him saying he beat a a4 with bt while he is stock.

even with those mods he's still under 200 hp and nearly the same weight as the cts. So in theory it would be impossible for him to win that race

even though I think the OP has a bit more than that if he won.

i've been on here for a while, but only know the setup of maybe 2 guys. and one of them is a local. i'm always lost when people post kill stories without saying what they've done to their cars.

I guess its too hard for me to understand. I guess I should post my kill story how I beat a m3 with a boat on land! Maybe I should be more clear I own a 08 cts and a a4 and in reality it wouldnt win either.

its easy to beat m3's with boats on land, because typically they're falling off another boat into the water.

. . . he never said it was an 08 what if it was older without an oil change for 20k miles? and running poorly? flat tire? you just really don't know. . at the end its still a kill no matter the circumstances. everyone's cts isn't as fast and cool as yours i hate cobalts but ive seen some crazy ones around here

If you read the post he says a brand new cts last I checked a brand new cts meant 08 or better. What good is a kill story or a race story without proof or facts? I love kill storys its just that I love believable ones and proof makes them even better.

yeah, the rear ones spin for a second (stasis 4:1 diff) but i dont think the front ones do... ill have my wife take a quick vid tomorrow and upload it for you... the stasis diff makes it launch much much better, i used to get a torque steer feeling before putting in the diff

The CTS if its the 250hp model i'll believe. THe RSX-S and the CObalt. BULL FUCKING SHIT. Unless u raced to the end of 1st gear at 35mph.

the end of first gear? shows what you know.. apr 1+ car, there isnt much of a first gear...

its all about traction baby! you guys are thinking i raced them for 5 miles or something... it was a stoplight race to the next light.. barely a quarter mile probably... i got 3-4 car lengths on them from the jump and the rsx was gaining but not quick enough, once they hit 6k, its nothing but power till redline for them... but both cars spun bad off the line...

Are u retarded? Thats exactly my point, there isn't much of a first gear. By the time u shift ur advantage is gone. The only time you have that traction advantage is launch and first. A half decent driver in an RSX-S or cobalt would have made mincemeat of you. You left out the part about the 3 second burnout off the line by the FWD's inept drivers. Now its believable.

Re: Finally a decent kill (for me anyway)

mincemeat ? um i dont think so... ive got every supporting mod possible for my setup so it runs decent for what it is, i know the powerband and i keep it in boost, i dont run to 6.5k then shift...if they launched perfectly i would still take them off the line and it would be neck and neck by the end of the quarter

it doesnt matter either way... that why i love stickshifts, it pits driver against driver. a better driver with a lesser car (at least for straight line) can beat someone with poor launch/shifts skills and a faster car... if its two autos running, there is no talent or skill there, each person presses the gas to the floor and thats it...

HEH, before i turbo'ed my honda and had some CTR cams with some other minor mods. i smoked several RSX type S's. it just boils down to the driver.

Glad you got the kills... doesn't matter what others think since you know what happened.

it was just a brand new bone stock CTS.. i doubt even their V6s make 300 hp

He has just about every power mod a regular k03 can have. He could be making around 220-235 chp. I don't know, maybe more, but since it was shorter run , it's not unbelievable to me.

you were a DD? Drunk Driver ?
    j/k
nice kill, some people want to destroy it for you. I killed quite new BMW 3 series with 3.Slow. I was happy, I know the driver fucked up and I got the advantage. I know what I drive, I know it sucks, but I still love my car and all those kills make me feel a bit better.
So for all haters, it doesn't matter what you have, but how you use it.
