i bought the same, but never got it to work, so i got Audi/Skoda code reader and so far so good.
For USB you need to download the usb driver, it connectes to my car but i can't change sh1t man....

hey guys i just got my VAG-com cable today and follow the instructions on the link provided. Then i went to change the seat belt noise. the code won't save. the instruction stated the code start with 0023259 i try putting that in but computer said only 5 digits, so i just leave off the first two zeros.. and it won't save.. i then try the remote windows but won't pick up anything and en error pop up during the "DO IT" window...

anyone done any of these code and made it work???.. 04 a6 2.7t sline here...

i think i should of read the whole thread before going nutz..... he list a whole load of number for the seatbelt noise.. anyways. i think i'm going to give it a try now... OO yeh.. my ebay Vag-com came with a program call Vag-Scrope 1.7 anyone used that??

I recieved my ebay cable yesterday and it didn't come with any software. I downloaded the 409.1 us version from www.ross-tech.com even though they say that it won't work with third party cables but it worked fine for me. I was able to do the one click lock/unlock and windows up/down with locking @ 15mph. Whatever soft code that came up I added +64, subtracted -4 & then added +32 my # was 15977 and it work great. However I was unable to change the seat belt chime and I couldn't access module 09 to do the euro mod with ambers off until turn signal on but I'll keep trying.

bro, you totally lost me there.. does that mean the windows will automatically roll up when you're going 15 or higher MPH??? i can't seem to get this crap working and it's pissing me off.

Yes, whatever soft comes up when you click on the central lock #35, add 64, subtract 4 & add 32 and whatever number you get, that's the new number you'll put in after clicking the recode button and then click do it and it'll working right away.

If I grab an ebay VAG-COM cable, then I can only use the Ross-Tech software version 409.1 ... not their latest software, 908, even if I purchase the license legitimately? And what's the difference between them?

Maybe. As the Ross-Tech site says, they cannot guarantee a generic cable will work with the most current version of the software. 409.1 is the version that works "free". I cannot recall anyone posting results of a generic cable with the paid version of the software.

The difference. The generic cable only performs a small subset of the features you get with the whole package.

Do you need all the functions of the full version? Have you checked out the VAG locator and tried it on your car to see if it is all you imagined and more?

The ebay cable should work fine once you get the port set up correctly. You have to have a legit version of VAG to save stuff. You can only do minor things with 409.1. You can also try to find a cracked version like I run. Got it years ago from some dude, and it has worked great since. I see similar stuff on piratebay from time to time, but from what I hear it isn't as good.

no doors lock at 15 mph unlock when you shut off the car and windows roll up and down with remote. the tranny mod is hot too
