Very good deal on bike racks at RackAttack right now!

Just as an FYI, rack attack offers price matching. EMS is having a sale on Thule and (I think) Yakima bike rack components.

    The EMS sale is:
    20% off the first item
15% off the second and third item

RackAttack will match this and then take off an additional $10, plus free shipping. In PA it's also tax free. For my order, the guy on the phone from RackAttack discounted the already 10% discounted Thule items by an additional 20% and 15%, so it was actually a 28% discount for the first item and 24.5% discount off the second and third, PLUS another $10 off. Quite the deal!!!

Unfortunately, they only offer this on items that are in stock. EMS is out of stock for the Echelon fork mount rack, but I still got the standard 10% MSRP for the two bike racks.

In any case, its a good deal. Thule stuff is not discounted very often, plus it was tax free and free shipping.

No problem. I'll post some pics once I get it installed, probably this weekend.

I have 43" bars (long story short, I got them for free b/c thule sent the wrong size and told me to keep them for free), not the 47", so Im going to have to mount the caps with some stainless cap screws instead of the clips. Should look pretty streamlined though. We shall see how it turns out...

    I ended up with:

    450R feet
    43" Aero Bars
    Echelon mounts X 2

I was close to buying a hitch mount, but in the end, this is more practical b/c I can use the bars for ski racks and a cargo box as well. I can't wait to get it set up on the car!

Sounds like the set up I want, except for longer bars and I only need 1 Echelon. I want the front wheel holder and locks also. Is the sale price applied to the on line order or is it better to call and get prices?

I think its easier to call. The guy I spoke with knew about the EMS sale so I didnt even have to explain anything. If you place it online you have to cut and paste the order page from EMS and explain in the comments... too much hassle. I had my whole order placed and rec'd email confirmation within 10 minutes via phone. Shipped today, should be here Thursday!

That sounds great. I need to wait to see if I get another contract in a few days but I hope I can get in on this sale. do you mind if I ask what the total for your order was? I'm going to get less stuff but I'm curious just the same.

Re: Very good deal on bike racks at RackAttack right now!

I didnt get bars b/c I already had them but the totals were:

    Echelon: $130.50 each
    450r feet: $114.48
    8 pack locks: $57.38
    Total: $432.86
    Minus $10 matching promo
    = $422.86

    Retail:
    Echelon: $145 each
    450r: $159
    locks: $75
    Total: $524

I think Aero bars are $100, and $90 with the normal 10% discount. I also bought an 8 pack of locks so that I'd have two extra (for an extra $8 or so) and in the event that I buy something else i the future I wont have to order locks to match my keys. The total discount in my case worked out to be 19.3% off retail prices, and 10.33% off the normal RackAttack prices. Savings could have been better if the Echelons would have been discounted to 15% off, but they were not. I also think that they guy at RackAttack that took the order may have miscalculated the discount in my favor (applying the EMS discount to the already discounted RackAttack price, and not to the retail price), and this may not happen for everyone who orders. I didnt mention it though
