New Tails (Pics)

Since I just completed my engine setup I decided to start on the cosmetic side of the modification process. I am starting nice and easy with the usual suspect (OEM RS4 Grill)up front, and new Depo FK tail-lights in the back. I just bought a pair of S4 side skirts that will eventually find their way on the car. From there I will painted the rear valance satorin and buy a front bumper. I haven't decided on which one yet though but it will be either RSR bumper from Illtek or an OEM S4 front bumper. Either way it has to be plastic.

Anyways here are the tails that I installed. I first saw them on Rob's car and Doc's car too. They do not stray too far from the stock look but still stand out in a subtle way. I know most of you guys like the stock ones but to each his own. Let me know what you think of them.

Looks good for aftermarket lights, those are the only ones I've seen so far that I like. I think stock still looks best but thats just me.

You can get them at a bunch of places. TMTuning, ECS, Ebay, and couple other places. They are all made by depo and are pretty cheap. You will see when you look at those sites.

Not a fan, I think they copy the 330i / ci tails a bit too much. On the B5 I think its just too much clear. Though I wonder what those would look like with smoked centers.

I was thinking about smoking the center but then I would have to smoke the headlights too and the sidemarkers so that everything would flow together.

Maybe someone should do a PS edit and tint the centers a light shade.

Those are too dark for me and I would not want matte finish. I was thinking a light shade of gray.

Those look really good man. Plan on tinting the reverse lights like others have or leaving it the way it is? I personally like it the way it is with the blue santorin . Clashes very well.

Thanks, I like it too on a Santorin. I saw some on a Nogaro and they looked ugly. I might tint them a light shade but I am not sure. If I did that I would do the headlights the same shade to match.

I wanted to Pshop it but mine is not working so I dont know how it will look.

just a thought, ive seen it more applied to b6's, but lightly spraying those orange bulbs in the white section with a really thin coat of silver spray paint. it gets rid of the "egg yoke" appearance, but they still light up orange. again, i like them alot. got a back 3/4 shot?

There is a thread (or maybe more) floating around with the procedure on it. Another option is to get these. The rear signal use bulb #7506 and the front uses bulb #2827/3457. The bulbs in the list are compatable for both.

Yeah I might get those for the fronts when I do the CC mod. The rears I will just paint like Sykora said.

spray paint your orange bulbs silver. they will get rid of the ugly orange tint in the white part but still blink orange. i did it on my b6 and it looks much better imo

The Matte finish came from a Scotch pad
