    fuse help

so ive searched all the boost gauge threads, but havent really found a solution yet. i swapped out my sunpro gauge for a Rev2 gauge (in my center vent). i had been running the sunpro just off of the vent power, and figured (incorrectly it turned out) that i could run the Rev2 the same way. got it all hooked up, started the car and had no vent lights, no radio lights and my climate control is really faint. i get the battery icon in my lcd display and my battery voltmeter doesnt register anything. if i shut the car off, the tac needle will stay just under 1000rpm and not drop even though the engine is clearly off. and to top it off, as if i didnt get the hint, right above my milage, where usually it has the miles since my last fill up, it says FUSE. looking in my fuse box, there isnt one that off the bat looks blown, and i really get any info out of the owners manual. any help is really appreicated!

If you unplug the Boost Guage does this go away? Just wire it properly to a 12v source like the 75X.

    Re: fuse help

I have the 01 and there are recommendations to just tapp into the vent light wire. But on a thread I read before there was a warning that the lights tend to short out when you do that. You are sort of pushing the circuit past it's load capacity. The fuse is supposed to be a circuit breaker, so it would cut off the power supply. Not that it is blown, just doing it's job.

As Bassed said, check if light works good when you remove the gauge hot wire. If so, your fuse is still good and then re route the hot wire for the gauge. If you go to the 75x terminal as recommended via AWE install guide (and Bassed), the lights will stay on all the time when the engine is on. Taking you only want it on when car lights are on, you can tap into the correct fuse on the fuse box. I tapped mine into the headlights. If you want it to come on as soon as you turn on your daytime driving lights, you need to tap into that fuse. They have more VA left for thier load not to overburden the curcuit.

That is where I tapped mine (the white wire)

thanks for the input guys, i disconnected the power for the gauge and the problems are still there. as soon as i get this figured out, ill wire it up properly, tapping into the fuse box and not the vent itself.

    Re: fuse help

First thing first. Change fuses for slots 3, 5, and 15 in the manual. If that does not do it, maybe another can cimmey in to give you next step. 3, 5, and 15 are for the instrument clusters. And slot 5 should be for your vent light. But the manual says slot 5 is for the warning lights, so that should still be intact. Maybe. Change it any ways.

If you do not have a manual, the slots are:

3- 3rd row down 2nd from last one to left
5- 2nd row down all the way to the left
15- 4th row down 3rd to the left starting all the way from right

The amps needed will be on the fuse
