modified front bumper

just a little teaser of my memorial day/weekend project. i picked up this bumper from Bronz a while back. slowly its getting there. im going to pick up a cupra lip once its painted. Let me know what you think

Tell me you're not going to ruin all that work by putting a front plate on there. Completely takes away from it.

Some of us don't have a choice, I'm sure you know that. Looks better than stock either way.

You always have a choice. It's required here but, half the people do even run a front plate.

To support it is my guess. Without it it would be sloppy and sagging.

i wanna do that so bad, with RS4 mesh except molding my zender lip to the stock bumper instead of molding the stock one.......

anyone with some photoshop skills, i would love to see what it would look like and with all the lowers painted.......

yeah i might do that with my old bumper, i dont know though its pretty torn up. ill see what i can pshop for you

and the bar in the middle is reinforced otherwise the bumper would get kinda floppy

i would take out the cross section in the bigger gap in the bumper. it just seems odd to be there.

just put the plate off in the bottom corner and your good you can zip tie it to the mesh

thanks guys. Bronz is the guy who actually did all the work, all i did when i got it was finish up a few rough spots and prep it for paint. im triming down some mesh to put on either side, over the piping to match the grill, and a cupra splitter going on soon, as well as a fog light solution (thinking LEDs) Ill have better pictures as soon as its all done.

i made up these grills, using the truck door trim stuff around the edges of the mesh. they came out pretty nicely. the trim also has glue on the inside of it securing it even more. it stays on pretty well


ill do a real photoshoot when its totally done.

A front plate is required in CT too, but I've always had my euro plate on my front bumper and I've never had a problem. My dad doesn't have anything on the front of his car. He just keeps the front plate in the trunk with the mount and just says it fell off yesterday whenever he gets questioned, which has only happened once.

Your front end looks sick as hell by the way, can't wait to see the finished product.

its the bumper itself, the intercooler doesnt touch it. it should be fixed with the cupra splitter.

With that cupra lip it will look damn good I even like it without the lip...

Is the reason the intercooler doesn"t touch the bumper because of extensive shaving? You could spray paint the IC piping black that would look cool IMO, with the grill inserts over them of course.
