Stainless steel test pipe made for the Audi A4 1.8T, from 1996-2005 and VW Passat 1.8T 1996-2001.

This is a brand new test pipe design that we just came out with. It is made specifically for the B5 and B6 A4s. Our test pipe is that our test pipe was designed to look and fit exactly like an OEM piece.



An advantage to our test pipe design is its ability to minimalize the amount of heat that gets transfered from the cat into the engine bay. We were able to accomplish this by designing a shell around the pipe. Our shell's design is a better alternative to the conventional heat wraps that people use.



Again, just to clarify, this is not a real cat, and is not intended for use on the streets. This is a straight pipe that is designed for off-road use only.

If you have stock software, it will throw a code, but not if you chip it.

Is this on the underside of the unit? Basically asking that no "official" will see it when inspecting the car for a "legal" cat?

There's currently nothing available for the B7 yet.

For the stamp, I believe it is facing away from you, when viewing it from the front.

Its a little hard to make out from the pictures but does it have both bung orifices for the front and rear o2 sensors?.

Looks like the For Off Road Use Only stamp faces upward, however, there are many ways which you can cover it up, if you don't like the way it looks. Simplest way is to have a small sheet of metal tack welded on there, or maybe a sticker would work, if it could stand up to the constant heat.

I noted this in another thread that I made, in a different section, but the OEM heatshield was designed to function as a heat shield, and to keep heat away from the rest of the engine bay's components. It was also designed to give a OEM fit and finish look to the car, once installed.

We tried looking at other places to put the stamp, but it just wasn't possible. Trust me, if we could have, we would have done it.

Just some real-life feedback from someone with an APR chip on whether or not it threw any codes. Very interested since i'll be replacing my exhaust soon.

If you get the cat-delete software version from APR you will not throw a code.

Yea, a good way of getting rid of the CEL is by getting it tuned/flashed out. It is also a good idea to do that anyways, to fully optimize the test pipe.

Hi - not sure if this was mentioned earlier - pardon me if it was - but about how much hp/tq gains could I expect with this? I'm chipped with k&n drop in filter.

I would say from the pipe alone, I would expect anywhere around 10-15hp, if not more, especially with a tune/flash done.

Both obviously flow the same, since they have the same inner diameter pipe.

The major benefit from this over our other design is that this incorporates a heat shield, which helps keep the heat out of the engine bay and in the exhaust instead. It also gives a nice OEM look, once installed.
