I have a 97 a4 I've seen a few wide body threads on here and have tried to find more info about it but can't so I figured I'd start my own thread. Basicly I know you should get your wheels before you do the mod. Now is everyone just getting wider wheels or spacing them out more? Is there a specific wheels size/ offset that would produce the best performance? Or a recomended size for a wide body mod? If the car is to be lowered should that be done before the mod? And does anyone have any helpfull info for someone who didn't know much on this mod? I have some friends who do a lot of body work and body mods so I'll have them do this for me I just want to get everything set for them before I bring the car over

    Re: widebody questions

you need to learn a lot..Do some searching you will find everything you just asked. Do you or your friends know what they are getting into when doing a custom widebody? Looks through a4robs widebody thread, you will learn a lot. Nothing is NEEDED, but it will look like crap if you dont have a drop and wheels, I think a4rob is running a 10" wide rim btw.

    Re: widebody questions

I'm pretty sure we can handle the work although we mostly work on trucks. But we've done chop tops shaved doors taken escalade front ends and chopped them down to fit a different truck. Chopped down doors and intalled different windows so that the rear windows on a truck can roll down not to mention tons of sheetmetal bed work. So unless there is something really tricky with this mod I think we can handle it. Ill have to check out that rob guys thread though

I am running 10.5" rear wheels btw. Use spacers to make it fit perfect. Look at spending close to 90 hours per fender. That is assuming you don't have to fix any screw ups.
