UPDATE 11/19- rear doors shaved
Alright ladies,
At the request of others, I will finally start my widebody thread. I started about the same time as Rich, but have not been working nearly as fast. At the time I didn't think that we really needed 2 DIY widebody threads, but people kept asking me for updates.
My plan is a little different from Rich's, but hopefully it will turn out as nice. I first picked up a set of used fenders from a 97 A4 that was totalled. First day, I mounted them, and began shaving the Audi football, side indicator, and made the cuts for the extension.

This was progress after day one of work.
This pic shows about how much extension I want before I start welding. I will use a hammer & dolly method for the top part of the fender, then weld in about 1 inch of sheet metal on the underside of the fender. My flares will not be as large as Rich's.

So far I think it is looking pretty good. I still need to get a welder from someone who is willing to lend me one, so until then there will not be very much progress. Other plans include shaving the mid door moldings, filling the holes, shaving the door handles, and a few other little things (25mm spacers, roof spoiler, ect) I also have another little suprise that involves 2 10lb bottles. For color, I plan to do the Porsche deep teal metallic. I might 2 tone my car with the charcoal roof & pillars similar to what I have right now. The main reason I am doing this is for something to do this fall.
