    Headlight ram air prototype project:

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Please look past the dirty ecode I used for this first one. The headlight should retain ALL functionality with the exception of the highbeam. That includes self leveler, parking light and low beam xenon. The air will run directly through the 3" clear tube into the:

    Stock intake w/s-flo
    X-1 intake
    V-flow
    RS4?

It will seal up and let zero hot engine air into the intake with everything BUT the V-Flow. For rain I will have an airtight plug to push in to seal out the water. With the plug in it will retain 100% stock functionallity. Remove the plug and gain an extra 50-75% more air flow to the intake without removing your headlight. Keep in mind that this is for the B5 S4 right now but a B5 A4 with an open element air filter will be able to use this as well. This isn't a sales pitch as much as a heads up if anyone is interested. If no one is....oh well, I'll keep building stuff for our cars.

Nice design! I like the clear tube.

Pretty gutsy modding an ecode but, you have some good skills there : )

The back isn't really photo worthy on this first one. I got a little hack happy. A whole kit is getting developed (by me) and will hopefully be pretty slick and easy to put in.

    wow! great work!

as stated above, a clear velocity stack(as opposed to the black one used) would look even better.

I don't want to turn this into a "For Sale" post just yet. I want to get this into my car and drive with it for a little while first. Parts are cheap for this so far so it would mainly be labor. I won't sell it until it's perfect. Just my OCD kicking in.

that looks awesome man... a friend of mine did this to an old leaky headlight he had lying around for his 99 eclipse... except he used 3 or 4" (dont remember) black ABS pipe, so it looked rather... shitty... it worked well, but looked horrible... yours on the other hand is incredible... i've got a spare pass headlight i thought of doing this to, but never thought of clear pipe, well done!...

if you made the black ring like a lit up halo(like for Hid's) that would look sick, but try something clear first

I think this is for bt applications where you can't use the stock box anymore.

Just kidding. Looks great. Airflow might be turbulent around the opening though. A scoop would probably be more efficient.

Shared headlights yes. Different intake boxes though. My plan is to have an option that works for everyone regardless of intakes or Intercoolers. There is still some more work to be done and some hard testing. I just picked up an S-flow from Tony out of Chicago (nice wheels btw) today. So, it will be installed and driven on Thursday?.?.?

I'd like to dyno it eventually with my intake against stock intake.
