Welcome - I think the camera would help. The first and the last pic are the only ones in focus...

Sounds like you have a nice little screamer in the works though...

really, I thought he might have been sitting on some silk pillows..

I was actually asking what company maybe, because you know different companies run different spring rates and some have adjustable dampening, etc, which can effect how low you can go without bottoming out on every thing on the road, and since I'm planing on getting my car about that low I figured that he might be a good person to ask what C/O he went with and how he likes the ride quality/ stiffness/ etc.

Maybe I didn't clarify my question well enough for you? or are you just trying to be clever?

Wonder how you are going to get that 750 core to fit! I run a 600 core and it was a challenge.

Also, 750 seems way too big for just a 50 trim.

Yes it is and it will just cause lag. He really only needs a 600hp core for that turbo. He shouldn't need a 750-800hp core till running a GT35 at 25+psi. Anyone using a 600 or larger core really needs to be running something other then a stock bumper so that it fits right.

yes i know the 750 is big but i plan on going bigger next year so why spend money twice...i actually cant wait to put this on. having barely any bumper is going to look great
....i believe my dp setup should correct the lag, that and im only going to run 2.5" piping to the intercooler and 3 out

in case you cant see it clearly the exhaust about 12" off the turbo will dump right out in front of my axle, so it will be a full 3" with the removal of a cap...

The extra volume of the huge 750hp core and 3" IC pipe is going to really increase lag,, it will also make your turbo work harder to get that air to the engine. A 3" IC pipe is not needed till you are making over 900hp. Even I was running 2.5" IC pipes up till a few weeks ago and I am making 600whp with a GT35r at 32psi, I just upgraded the cold side to 2.75" which is what my FMIC guy told me to run with the power I am making now. I will be changing out my 800hp fmic setup because once I upgrade the turbo I will be maxing that fmic out, I plan on running air/water next.

    My setup.

You say you dont want to upgrade twice on the fmic, but yet your doing exactly that by doing 2 different turbo setups. A fmic really needs to be matched to the power the car is making other wise it just decreases the power.

It is not going to be a great idea to dump the exhaust right in front of the axle seeing that all that heat is going to be moving backwards as the car is being driven and that means the axle will see all that heat. Its best to have the dump at the bottom of the down pipe. Here is a picture of my cut out that I have when running a full exhaust.

Picture of the dump turn down I use when running just a straight down pipe.

    Re: my work in progress

i like your setup, it looks real nice with nice power. im not to concerned about the lag at this point, i think the turbo will be gettin replaced sooner than latr with a 60-1.

on the flip side the exhaust cutout actually sits flush with the subframe and faces backward, so the axle should see little heat at all....however if the axle does start taking a beating its an easy fix, just pull the dp and set it up different, i was just limited at where i could mount it due to me not being able to put on a 3" turbo back, right now im running the 2.25 borla which isnt bt friendly

and onto my third remark...is this bat approved?

Nice work. Any reason you chose the .63 over the .48 a/r??? You mentioned you got on the dyno, any numbers yet??? Also, I'd like to see your intake tract. I had a similar setup using CTapp as well and the TIP was a PITA to get right.

Lastly, yes, I think this is BAT approved. you meet at least 2 out of 3 requirements. rods and a t3 flange turbo/mani.

i havent gotten it to run yet, so no dyno numbers yet. i choose the .63 because i wanted more top end then bottom, im coming from a k04 so hopefully this will be more of a highway runner.
how is the tapp tune, im waiting for the ecu to come in and i will post pics of the tip as soon as i get it welded up and on the car

that CTapp was very strong. Especially the race gas tune which I used once. I had a choice between the 63 or 48 and coming from a k03, I wanted still have some low end. then I figured out that lag is just a state of mind.

Well, I never got to a dyno (shame on me) because I had hardware issues the whole time. first, I couldn't hit the 19psi the file was calling for in the first 3 gears. I was only hitting 17, then a 20+ spike in 4th and 5th until I got a greddy profec EBC which smoothed things out. I had to play with the wg actuator arm quite a bit to get it just right. To this day, I think there was something wrong w/ the internal wg, but I just don't know what. Then i dealt with a couple of cracks on the exh mani so boost was down to ~15psi. The nuts on the bolts that held the turbo to the mani kept backing off too. I went to the track in this condition and ran a 14.2 at 103 (If I recall the mph correctly) with something like a 2.4 60ft lol. Yes, I can't drive for shite. I launched hard, then bogged BAAAD then had to build boost again. All in all, a bad run but not as bad as it should've been considering the condition of the setup. I was also running a 2.5" turbo back w/ no cat. a 3" might have netted me some extra HP. If I had to guess, I was making around 260 hp to the wheels, maybe a bit more. I remember CTapp looking at the logs once and saying that based on the g/s on the maf, that's about what I was making.

Had the car been in perfect condition (regarding the turbo hardware), I have no doubt it would've made around 290hp to the wheels on the 93 oct tune.

The car was an animal on the c-16 tune but I only ran that for 3 gallons lol. and I wasn't hitting the requisite 25psi of boost.
The harder I practice, the luckier I get.

well hopefully the .63 makes more power...but that will have to wait for the first dyno if it isnt close to 4 on race 60-1s going in... that has been my mark and was told this turbo should do the trick but everyone you talk to says something different

Why are you posting so much again.... Did you decide to get your car back?
Yea, after the 14.2 run, I was pissed so with the car on E as I left the track, I decided to buy 3 gals of c-16 and to hell with everything. I shut off the car, flipped the switch on the ecu, did a vag tba and ran the car on the c16. it smelled awesome lol. I'm sure it ran way rich because I wasn't making the 25psi of boost the file called for. I still have that log somewhere as well as caps run. I don't remember what the caps run was but I know it was WAY faster than the 93 oct. run I posted on the caps db.

I'm going to look at the car sometime this week I hope. It was towed on a flatbed back to Salisbury from College Park. He wants to sell it for $3k but I don't think I can swing it right now. Other stuff has come up recently.

It's there for the taking though. someone should buy it for the $3k he wants.

I don't know why I post so much lol....Audi Envy???
