    o2 sensor and sai question

i was just wondering, would a faulty primary o2 sensor, the one pre cat, trigger the SAI pump to turn on more frequently. I thought it is only supposed to turn on on cold start ups, but its turning on almost every time i turn on the car now, and its not really cold here anymore. Its also turning on intermittently when driving around town but just for a few seconds. I have a cel for the o2 sensor and plan on replacing the sensor in hope that this fixes it. Im tired of hearing my sai pump always whine all the time. TIA!

Re: o2 sensor and sai question

I don't know. I have a bad secondary O2 and I don't have that problem. It does cause a random split second lean condition and hesitation while cruising though, but that's not what you're experiencing. Just replace it and if it still happens, time to look at your hoses to your sai.
