    Re: Questions about SSAutoChrome (SSAC)?

no drone? I have the same setup and around 1-2k rpm with partial throttle I'm having quite annoying drone. Do you think it is abit loud at idle?

BTW there is a strong smell coming from the engine bay after I had this SSAC, it smells like either burnt oil or fresh exhaust. Before there was no smell at all. Does anyone have this problem too?

i understand that the smell is because there are no cats. When I turn on my AC with recirculation OFF, the exhaust smell actually goes into the cabin and it smells really bad. Has anyone else had this problem?

    Re: Questions about SSAutoChrome (SSAC)?

I have not done mine yet no time and I only drive the S about once a week. But I think you use two spark plug de-foulers. drill through one so the sensor fits good in there then stick the drilled on into another de-fouler. So in the end the non drilled on goes in to the exhaust. I hope that was not confusing, lol. Some one should chime in and confirm though. But I am pretty sure that how ya do it.

Has anybody tried wrap/sealant or something so there's no odor in the cabin?

    Re: Questions about SSAutoChrome (SSAC)?

    Fitted it!

Had the cut off valve, but they have kissed the floor so often that iv taken them out.

Had a couple problems, one of the dp brackets didnt perfectly line up, and the cat back was about 6 inchs too short, but that was fine, because i cut out the restriction join and put in a wider pipe.

I love it! definetly getting more power than I did with the miltek.

Getting the heatsheilds out is a bit of a PITA, the rest of the job isnt really to bad, if you have a flexible ratchet spanner its pretty easy.

i get a sort of vibration at about 1800-2000rpm by the gearstick/handbrake area, I think thats where the exhaust is touching the heatshield.

If the Twin uses the same olive joints, i would have thought so.

The best bit about this exhaust is the downpipes. Bargin for what you get and the turbos are SOOO loud now with them on I LOVE IT!

    Re: Questions about SSAutoChrome (SSAC)?

Not sure exactly, all I know is the ECU is going to attempt to correct AFR in a bad way. If my understanding is correct it will be dumping fuel to bring up the AFRs, so you'll be running quite rich. However that's mostly speculation on my part. Most likely you'll be in limp mode anyway.

As far as the heat shield, I was able to chop mine up pretty easily with a hacksaw, but it was off the car at that point. Then I forgot to install it before my tranny was back in. I'm actually not running any heat shield on passenger side right now.

Yeah, I have noticed my fuel economy is down around 17-18mpg instead of the previous 24ish...I thought it was just from screwing around with the new set up...I will definitely get that in there. I might just have to take it out and try and cut it. Appreciate the help!

    You will be fine.
And the cause for your mpg going down is the fact that you have downpipes now

    Re: Questions about SSAutoChrome (SSAC)?

Its the primary O2 - it has been throwing engine codes for about two months now - p1113 and p1131 so I know they are bad, planning on changing them out, but whats the deal with the primary 02? I know the car runs fine with it out but will it do any damage to the motor, turbos, ect?

Have searched and did not find anything conclusive.

Will the ssac bolt up to a scorpion exhaust? Is it hard to install since no flex joints? And the only code I'd get would be to bank1 and 2 second sensor primary won't throw codes? What other option are people doing over straight pipes.

Placed a order last week on the 6th of Jan and today I finally recieved a email and was told that my card was credited back and the exhaust is out of stock for 30-45 days. What great customer service this company has. Does anyone have the cat back they want to sell, or should I just buy something else. I hate ordering stuff from companies that dont have a telephone number.

I dont know why but that sentence made me chuckle.

I tightened up the clamps and moved the exhaust around a bit and now I have no drone/rattle or vibration.

Turned down the reverb, adjusted the treble and removed some of the bass to get a better exhaust note. Low E perhaps? lol, i kid i kid
