New to me 00’ Laser with RS6-RS turbos

Well boys.. made another dumb financial decision. Friend was selling his Laser to finish his other two B5’s and I had to keep it in the family. Will be replacing the carbon y-pipe for genuine RS4 Y-pipe and replacing the seats with Corbeau RRB’s shortly.

Bored to 2.8
JE pistons
IE rods
87mm MAF housing
RS4 intake manifold
RS4 throttle body
RS4 throttle body boot
RS4 bi pipes
034X intake setup
034 Carbon Fiber RS4 size Y-pipe

Heads:
2.8 heads
Plus +1 valves
Everything Supertech

Fueling/turbos
JHM fueling kit
* I think the injectors are either 650cc or 750cc
* I think the fuel pump is deatschwerks
RS6-RS turbos
IE fuel rails with IE FPR, etc
Trans:
Full JHM upgrade rebuild with all JHM trans options

H&R front and rear swaybars
034 solid subframe mounts

It was a bitch to get this one perfect but Jay and I both prefer the RS4 Y pipe since it has the other typical RS4 components on it.

Do they leak at the ends, where you put the clamps ?

I saw that there was an updated piece with a metal band to support the clamps, is this irrelevant

No not really. I know some guys had issues at the ends by over tightening the clamps but mine leaked at all the seams where the Cf met at less than 5psi.

This car I installed the older style and the biggest issue was the MAF hose popping off at high boost.

I have a newer style too and it was leaking air from the pancake valve area.

If you want plug and play, dont buy this. If you’re okay with figuring out leaks and fixing them then this is fine. I ended up putting genuine RS4 y pipes on my other B5 S4s.

Yea I think it’s the most important part of the car. My planted brackets just came in today, so I’ll be putting my new seats in some time this week. Love this car
