Show and Tell Your Suspension Setup!
I have seen a lot of individual suspension threads lately, but no real compare and contrast type ones. A lot of information has been posted lately, but with that, has come a bit of confusion as well. [:)]
I was hoping we could start a thread where members who have modded their suspensions could post their rides and respective specs in one thread. This way, those of us looking for the right setup can find everything in one place.[up]
If possible, please provide the following information:
-Spring or Coilover / Brand / Style name
-Front Drop in inches from base model A4
-Rear Drop in inches from base model A4
-Wheel size
-Tire specs
-Pictures
Thanks everyone!

He must mean 245/35/19. 45 would be way too tall.
Sin_city_Rings: I didn't post my info because I have no clue how much we dropped it from stock height.

As the master of this here thread, I think I can pardon you on this....[:)]
I think just mentioning the coilover bit will suffice. Non adjustable springs seem to be more important to get the actual measurements for those who may be looking to purchase those only. Springs are a one shot deal.

Re: Show and Tell Your Suspension Setup!
Thanks to Anthony's photos I was inspired to buy the OE Sport Springs. They arrived today. I am hoping that it won't look too bad with just the stock 6 spoke 17" wheels. That's what I'm stuck with until I can get 19's. I love the Forgestar F14's, Anthony, they look great and fit perfectly.

Ditto that. If you got them from AWE, you got the last set they had in stock. Mine will be drop shipped from H&R - should be here in about a week. [:D] The price was too good to say no.

Re: Show and Tell Your Suspension Setup!
Great looking car anthony! May I ask what percent tints you have? And is the rear window led light housing stand out with your tints?

50% for the front four and 37% for the rear.

Glad to see that I inspired a few of you, now I just hope you're as happy with them as we are. [:D]
OK now let's not let this thread get too talky. If you have any other questions about the car please feel free to PM me or post in one of my threads.
Cheers! [a4]

Re: Show and Tell Your Suspension Setup!
To the "thread master": [:p]
drops can not be standard-measured because the B8 A4 has three suspension settings:
Comfort (stock)
Sport -> -20 mm (= 3/4" aprox)
S Line -> -30 mm = (1 1/5" aprox)
So, a 70 mm drop on a stock suspension equals a 40 mm (1 1/2") drop on a S-Line suspension...
Now, my Q:
1- My suspension is "comfort" (my ride looks like a SUV right now with the 19" wheels - 255/35 tires... BIG HOLE left over the tires !!! [:/])
2- My local streets are a mix, going from "ultra modern" to "speleologist's dream", thus, a drop-it-down-to-hell suspension would require polished iron balls and constant bumper repairs...
What drop would be OK to preserve some safe ride while still gettin' a sportier feel and cool looks ???
H&R 1 1/2" would do ??
[up]
Advice greatly appreciated

Re: Show and Tell Your Suspension Setup!
I'm in a similar situation, and I've decided that Anthony's setup is probably the best option for me. It will also make winter driving a little easier on my car. Plus, it looked vaguely OEM, but still subtle aggressive. I love it.

Re: Show and Tell Your Suspension Setup!
My biggest concern with going with springs is that the OEM sport shocks will wind up wearing out much much quicker.
Anyone have experience so far with this on the b8 platform?
Being an Avant, I dont want to go too low, especially with the roads in my town. I'm leaning to the OE Sport springs - but dont know if that will be enough with the avant.

You are correct with the above (except the US S-Line and Sport are the same drop at 20mm) when you say drops can't be measured this way.
However, I asked for the drop from a base /stock model A4. Just the way that all suspension companies measure their drops. S-Line and Sport Package setups are not considered base.
I will however remove the term "stock" though, since that actually refers to anything OEM. [up]

Re: Show and Tell Your Suspension Setup!
I was really hoping to show some pics of the H&R OE Sport Springs with stock 17's, but my dealer declined putting them on for me! I had the car there anyway to check out some other stuff, and I figured they'd be happy to take my money. Guess not! They suggested that I take it to Midas! OK, then. Pics after the Midas touch....

x2. Anyone have any experience on this? How will the shocks hold up with time?

Considering these springs have only started going on the B8's a matter of months ago, I think it is way too soon to tell.
Unless anyone had an immediate shock failure, the total lifespan of the shocks is what we are looking for. But again, too soon to tell.

Don't we have pictures of both of these combos in this thread already?
Anthony's vs. Sin_City_Rings rides should be what you are looking for.
