Vibration when accelerating after changing brake pads

Hey all. I have a 2013 S4 and the brake pad replacement warning came on so I decided to change the front brake pads. I did not change the rotors (now I wish I would have just to rule that out as being the issue). I did everything exactly how it was supposed to be done and got the car back on the ground. Now when I get going about 50+ mph there is a slight vibration coming from the front end(I think). I can feel it slightly in the steering wheel and accelerator pedal. 75mph+ it gets a lot more noticeable and I can hear it inside the car/feel it on the steering wheel & pedal. When I hit the brakes it just about completely goes away and I cannot feel any vibration at all. There is no vibration from 0-45 mph. I was not having this issue at all before replacing the brake pads. Everything I read says it's most likely a bad tire where a belt slipped or something similar. I'll be getting new tires on Monday to rule that out as I'm due for new tires anyways. Any suggestions or ideas in case the tires don't solve the problem? Obviously rotors would make sense but I don't think it's the rotors as it goes away when I hit the brakes and the vibration is only present when accelerating or cruising. Any help/feedback would be greatly appreciated. First problem I've ever had with this car. Thank you!

Are you sure you set the brake pads in correctly?

Also are you sure all the wheel lug nuts are tight?

I only ask cause I had an issue like that once and turns out the shop left some of the lug nuts loose.

Thanks for the suggestions! Yes I've tripled checked the lug nut torque and even took the calipers completely off to make sure the pads were seated correctly. I have no idea what the problem could be. New tires tomorrow hopefully that's the problem but I doubt it

Could a wheel bearing cause this issue?

Tires solved the issue!!! Apparently I had a belt slip within the tire. Weird that it started happening after I changed my pads but all is good! Love the s4

Hey there,

I am getting a terrible sqeaul out of one of my brakes so I suspect that the pads need changing, but in the past I have always changed the pads and the rotors per my mechanics advice. I just wanted to inquire about your experience just doing the pads and if I can get away with not doing my rotors as they are relatively in good shape and I do not know why they always press me on doing the rotors as well. That said I will be changing the pads myself. Also did you use stock pads ? Thanks

If they don't feel warped now, throw some pads on them, I do it all the time.
