Is it possible to drop the transmission on 4.2 with a 6 speed conversation from the bottom? I have set of quick jacks wondering if it would give me enough clearance and if feasible..

According to rollerton, you can ... see post #2 here : https://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/806838-Ready-to-remove-and-install-another-O1E-in-my-2002-S6?

YES! A widebody with an 01E you can actually slip the trans down and thru the subframe without even moving it. But somewhat of a hassle to get a good angle for reinstall. You'll want to unbolt the torque mount and probably loosen / lower the subframe at least a bit to keep the stress down.
But I did a clutch on one of my old S6's right after surgery and just sneaked the trans down without loosening hardly anything under there. Ideally you still want the whole car up as high as you can get it; the trans sitting on a jack leaves very little room to maneuver underneath.
I’ve done a 6 speed swap that way. Cussed at the 3 lower bell housing bolts a lot. Swore I’d never do one that way again.

After all the cursing and swearing how much harder is it to remove the engine/trans together?
Imo the suckiest part of pulling the engine/trans is removing the driveshaft/cv axles. If it we me I'd pull them together and be done with it.

if it's an Auto and you have the tools and a lift..for me it's a toss up. If it's already a 6 speed ? You can have that trans out in less than an hour.

Already swapped with a 6 speed.
Now trying to figure out my coolant leak. Coolant is seeping between the block and the transmission. Not sure if the RMS covers any coolant passage or if there is a freeze plug near.

It's leaking somewhere above the bellhousing; there are a couple freeze plugs in the back of the block up there above the bellhousing, but literally nothing that you can touch without pulling the engine.
And any hose/pipe/o-ring, or fitting is 1000% more likely to leak than any of the freeze plugs- but you COULD be the unluckiest person on earth this time.
Seems like We all take turns with that honor one day or another. I'd loosen and move the coolant reservoir up out of the way and peak around the back of the engine on top of the trans and see if you can find any other clues. I can't picture anything that would leak from inside the bellhousing/ behind flywheel .
Twice a year I get a puddle of coolant 4-5" across that REALLY looks like it must come from the left front/ radiator. But it seems to drip down out of thin air. So I mop it up and find nothing for 3-6 months and it happens again..
But- here's a shitty picture of the mess of plumbing on the back where literally any hose fitting could leak:

Thanks for the reference pic. Yeah have a good idea of the coolant lines. Reason I'm not understanding where the leak is. Only leaks after being driven and not while running.
Do have a pic of where the freeze plug are located?
