Hello,

I have a B8 s4 in Phantom Black, year 2010. It has about 157,000 now.

So far, it is Unitronic Stage 3 Dual pulley, running the APR Drive pulley+unitronic crank pulley.

It has Unitronic Stage 2 TCU software, with a new mechatronic unit (Old one died at 140,000 miles)

Sometimes I like to fly under the radar, so it wears 19" Peelers and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2's for grip.

Under the car, I have an AWE Track edition exhaust, which I have come to like more and more through ownership. While
It is loud and drones at above 70, it completely altered the noise of my shifts to the point where you can hear a single explosive sound each shift with no "fart" noise, just a clap synchronized with the shift. This was not the case when the car was stock, I beleive it has to do with the higher level of power and temps.

I do take the car to track, but only rarely as I dont live near one. For that, it has the Alu Kruez stabilizer, and all of the drivetrain inserts. It does not have sway bars.

For an intake, I went with the Luft Technik carbon version. It looks great in my opinion, but could be thermally better.

The car heat soaks, yes, but not until you drive it for a good 30-40 minutes or just stay in the pedal without giving it a rest - which is impossible in the streets of my area.

That being said, I will eventually go back to the track and will want to get a front mount intercooler. I do not know which brands are the best, but wanted to ask for other opinions. So, what do you think the best cooling option is?

At "Stage 3" levels, is there anything else I or anyone else should be doing, or any modifications (porting is not within my budget yet) that would help get the most out of the extra software and boost?

Thank you

new suspension would give good performance over stock, also looks better;) sways are cheap too so might as well do eet.

Just get a good heat exchanger and youre gold. I like the revo charge cooler. It is bar and plate with very good end tanks that have flow diverters in them and it comes with a reservoir for divorcing. Others from merc, apr, ams are great too

At your mileage, I’d call some local shops to get quotes on carbon cleaning w/walnut blasting for the intake valves. Here locally, I’ve met a couple guys that had it done for about $500 (parts & labor). They mentioned that they noticed an immediate difference in low end torque and mpg. I do not recall their mileage, but I know it was well over 100k.

Cooling for sure. It’s nice to have consistency with all that extra power. I noticed heat soak on stage 2+ prior to the heat exchanger. Now I just have consistent power all the time.

Eurocode sway bars and end links (complete USS kit) seem obvious.. especially if you track it. I just ordered the kit based on all the reviews and cannot wait until it arrives.

I am not experiencing heat soaking so cannot advise on that..

P.S. I too am not eager to change my wheels (also have stock Peelers) or lower her.. That’ll be last for me...if at all.

I wouldnt recommend the uc end links. The end links are solid spherical and designed for track cars that maintain them more than annually. On the streets they get dirt in them, they get oxidation , they get noisy and can need replacement annually for very little benefit.

Read some reports of noise, but it all (noise and subsequent maintenance) seemed somewhat trivial.. I can always try them out.. Not a huge deal either way.

Lol ya ur correct and the countless threads/owners of said endlinks that have failed are wrong. Just buy the metal moogs and be done with it. The eurocode are built for track use not daily drivers.
That said their sways are great. The moogs are much cheaper also.

...should one order the dust boots..? I did not.. Did not read about anyone doing so..

Honestly tho, I am not even sure I’ll be here in Italy in a year or two.. I am on a work transfer permit and under a two year contract. So I may never even get to the point of hearing the noise.. [emoji16]

P.S. From what I have read, there is more than “very little” benefit.

Thanks for all the replies - Just did full drivetrain inserts and alu kruez to better up the handling, now I am considering lowering the car 1.2" and adding the front cooler, I just wanted to find the one that kept IAT's the lowest.
