View Full Version : Engine Torque Monitor 2 (P1335)

Has anyone else seen this fault code or know anything about it? I was giving it steady throttle as I was rounding the on ramp, then once I started to accelerated a little harder to merge it popped the EPC and went limp. The gear selector showed "S7" for the first time ever and the gas pedal was totally dead. Pulled over and restarted and all worked fine.

I'm going to contribute my guesses based on other VW/Audi models:
-Dirty MAF
-Carbon buildup
-Tune needs updating

I found the explanation of the code in the Ross Tech site and looks like it could be Intake related. I'll have to take a closer look later after work.

Carbon seems unlikely since its a 2014 with 20k miles.

Ever diagnose what’s this was? I just had p1335 limp me out while on a spirited drive.

Had the same thing happen to me yesterday on the freeway. Luckily there wasn't too much traffic at the time. I took some logs and sent them off to the tuner to see if it is related to the stg ii I just flashed.

Weird, are you on 93 big TB file? Iv never had this but always ran e40 file. Did yours happen getting on freeway? There is not a lot of documentation I’m seeing for this code but the couple mentions seemed to be while Corning w/ throttle. Mind sending me your log?

91 file. I was just maintaining speed on road, maybe 2500 rpm. The log I sent is about 16mb, but you can take a look and see if anything appears out of the ordinary.

colder air more power ! Most like it you hit TQ limit on tune and your tuner should adjust that... In what area are you locate and what ambient was at that day ?

I'm in Phoenix, AZ. It was probably 70-75 degrees F when it occurred.

you got very low timing 4-9* across all runs, sounds like limp mode or something ! What specs and what fuel ?

also when you tune your car or did you do any new revision of software recently ? Car was runs fine before ?

Yeah the EPC light came on, so limp mode makes sense.

Was running stg I and it was running fine. Installed Merc HX and crank pulley this weekend

That's what I figured. Emailed them twice since Monday, no response yet. Looks like they are overhauling their ordering portal, and coupled with Black Friday, they are probably overloaded with emails. I appreciate the response from you, my dude!!!

Damn, so that means I’m ever further away from resolution. I am still waiting on the email to tell me I’m in line for new revision.

Did they offer up any information or suggestions for the time being? Are you still driving your car?

I reverted back to stg ii and it seems fine, but I have been driving my q5 in the meantime. Getting EPC light and losing power on the freeway is not something I want to happen in the near future

Just something to keep in mind, the more I thought about it, this was the initial symptom of my supercharger leaking coolant into the cylinder. Started slow like this, then eventually started getting misfires.

I JUST replaced mine less than 1k ago with new v2 OEM. I can safely say on my car this isn’t the problem. But yes you are 100% correct, my car was doing this all the time when it was leaking from ICs. However the logs and codes are completely different. I was seeing misfires which resulted in EPC mode this didn’t have and misfires saved and a new code of the P1335, which I’m finding very little documentation of.
