Had my 2011 S4 just under 2 years, very much enjoyed the car and AWD was nice to have here in the NE, but yearned for something more, so traded it this week and picked up a 2013 C63 AMG - Obsidian Black, all the options, factory LSD, absolutely mint condition and it is a total monster, just no comparison, it is a sledge hammer with the most intoxicating exhaust sound!

I think I might have been a bit happier with a B8.5, really annoyed me that everything in MMI took like 27 clicks and that it didn't remember anything after you shut off the car, so was always irritated that every time I got in the car it went to a Nav entry screen and took 2 buttons to get to the map where it should have been. I also will not miss the electric steering and the over priced tune options (C63 you can add 100hp at the crank for 700 bucks including the handheld flasher)

Things I will miss, AWD, Fuel Economy that isn't 15 mpg (C63 is 13/19), this forum - more active than the C63 forum and will also miss VCDS as nothing really exists like that for the Mercedes.

I will miss you guys and may check back from time to time to see what is up!

2011 didn't have electric steering?

2013 C63 has an NA engine? Curious how you get 100 more hp on an NA engine with only 700 bucks.

2011 didn't have electric steering?

i thought it was electric assisted hydraulic steering.

You're right. I guess I was thinking too literal. Normally here when we are talking between the two it's full electric like a b8.5 which is known to suck.

Good luck with your new ride. Post exhaust clips.

This is why I always liked turbo/supercharged cars as it is easy to make power for cheap, but in the C63, they significantly detuned the SLS engine in the C63, they drop it from 585 to 451 without changing much (SLS has forged internals is one of the changes). Eurocharged ups power from 451 to 540 and toque from 443 to 494 (crank) - obviously not normal for an NA motor, just due to how much it is detuned, if you have an SLS, tune is only picking up a few HP - C63 tunes almost like a turbo car!

I will try to get some pics up today.

me too.

I am getting old and traffic sucks in the Boston area, last stick I had was right before the S4 2 years ago and don't miss it. C63 has an interesting transmission, up until 2011 it was a true 7 speed automatic, in 2012 they switch to the MCT which is the 7 speed automatic but they replaced the torque converter with a dual wet clutch setup, so it is closer to a DSG than a normal automatic, but doesn't have the jerkiness you sometimes get with a dual clutch trans, but shifts are not quite as quick.

Good luck and enjoy. I just came off of a C class and honestly loved it but the lack of 6MTs on the new versions made a new Merc a no go for me. If you're looking for active forums, I had good luck with MBWorld.org.

Good luck Road Kill. The C63 is a monster and you will enjoy the sounds it makes. Just watch out for snow ;)

Peace.

Did the same earlier this year. I got a 2012 with P31 package (481hp) to the crank. Car is sick. Love the exhaust on cold start. I took a clip this morning. Enjoy 😎
