View Full Version : Noise when turning left at low speed

I notice a squeal/squeak from my car when turning slowly at low speeds (i.e. a drive-thru). What's odd is I don't hear it when coming to a stop and going straight, only when turning (specifically left from what I can tell). It's pretty noticeable. Any ideas what this could be? 2010 with 78k miles. If it's brakes, why only when turning at low speeds?

Make sure all your lugs are tightened to spec

I had my tire rotated a few thousand miles ago and my brother in law did it, I trust he didn't leave one loose, but I can look into it.
It really sounds more like brakes or an axle or something? Wheel bearing?

It's brakes.

Why would brakes make noise only when turning?

Checking the lugs will take 2 min and I had this same issue and that's what it was

I have AG wheels if that matters. What do I need to do? What tool do I need? Sorry, I am not a mechanic-type.

Just tighten the bolts. I mean you SHOULD use a torque wrench. But just make sure they're all snug
I was told that it could be the lower control arm bushings that are making noise. Apparently it's common on the B6's and B7's. I would imagine the B8's would inherit this issue as well.

might be the ball joints either on the lower or upper control arms.
also, are you lowered? i found out that mine did that because the strut mount bushing on my airbag was shot. Airlift sent me a whole new design and the problem is solved.
