The belly pans provided for modern Audi’s have always appeared to be out of place, cost-cutting parts.

Many enthusiasts have chosen to run their cars without this protective cover entirely. This decision, however, ignores the unfortunate reality that the belly pan protects several critical engine and drivetrain components.

ECS has a much more sensible solution – The Street Shield Skid Plate features corrosion resistant, 4.76mm thick 5052 aluminum, offering complete engine undercarriage protection.

Appreciate the feedback. We do not feel it necessary to make that piece out of aluminum. This would simply just add more weight as there is nothing above that plastic piece that actually needs protected. There is just a crumple zone.

because plastic break easily, mine is. and i can only imagine the stream of turbulance air created with the open spot/broken area.

How about a hole for easy access to the drain plug!

Design for this likely will not be revised unfortunately. Appreciate the feedback though!

I noticed when I installed mine that I had to remove the reinforcing bracket/angle that comes from the factory mounted to the subframe just in front of the steering rack (2015 S4). I suppose the Street Shield does the same job of deflecting anything from hitting the steering rack, but in case of any dealer warranty type issues I'd prefer to leave the reinforcement bracket in place with the Street Shield mounted over it. My constructive criticism would be to revise the Street Shield to allow for this, if possible.

Yea was the only thing ever stopping me from buying one. Wish it had a drain hole with cover.

I can't see removing the factory piece and installing our street shield as a replacement causing any issues with warranty. You're literally replacing a piece of metal with a larger piece of metal. If you hit something with the street shield installed and hypothetically causes damage to the rack it more that likely would have caused the same type of damage with the factory piece if not more damage.

I kept my factory bracket and added the street shield over it by adding two or three bolt holes to the shield. Best of both worlds. Search for threads started by me and you should find all the details. Pretty easy change. The factory bracket is very heavy steel and angle shaped, which will take a big hit that would shred the aluminum sheet.

Thanks for chiming in. I remember reading your post about this. Next time I get under the car I may follow suit. I agree that the steel angle is very robust and would serve its purpose better than the relatively thin aluminum, so I'll feel much better when I get it reinstalled.
