I bought an AWE intake used, and when I started the install, I noticed what appears to be a deformed component. This is the part that attaches to the rubber adapter at the turbo's. Is it supposed to be shaped like this? Ive seen two pictures online of this part, and both of those show a perfect oval opening. However, this part doesn't appear to be cracked, or repaired, it simply looks bent. Since its carbon fiber, I don't think it would have bent :)

my first awe intake deformed like that after less than 200 miles, it took a while to get a replacement part. they blamed it on a bad batch or something. you can try to contact awe, but since you bought it second hand they probably will not offer you a warranty. gl.

Good to know. Thanks. Worse case, I might be able to get the original purchaser to get the part for me. :). He's a forum member. I've also noticed the air inlet part is deformed slightly under the rubber and clamp also. That one in not as concerned about. I just don't want a gap opening at the turbos with unfiltered air! Thanks again.

glad to help, yours looks a lot better than mine, the clear coat/resin was actually cracking on mine to the point where i had to stop driving the car until i got the replacement lol. hopefully it won't be too much headache to get it replaced.

Wow. Hopefully AWE helps out. I'll post here to update everyone.

How'd you discover the issue? This was under the rubber, and I'm guessing the guy who sold it to me never noticed, as the rubber was still tight on the part from he took the intake off the car.

My buddy who has S7 and that intake had similar problem. He got his intake replaced as well.
