It is with a sad heart that we will have to postpone the ending location of the drive. Unfortunately, rain is forecasted and Lavaggio would not be comfortable for all of the guests, if we had to stay indoors.

Marcel and I have spoken at length and as our goal is to ensure the best possible experience for everyone and we had to make this call. That being said, we are looking at a new date that will be announced next week and both Lavaggio and the Auto Gallery are committed to participating and are extremely excited.

I understand. It was one thing for us to be hosted by them when they are open. With the rain the way it is, Lavaggio has been closed and if it continues, would have to open and staff the place just for our group. Not a fair burden on them at all. My concern was really over the experience the group would have if they were all gathered inside. Lavaggio is about being able to relax while you have your car pampered.

SO, let me be clear.

We are taking a rain check on the Lavaggio trip with a hosted lunch by the Auto Gallery...

But the show and the cruise will go on...Rain or Shine!

This opens up two possibilities... We could do the normal routine of going to a food spot for a bite at the end

Or

we could grab something to-go from any of the food spots around the Kanan/101 interchange

AND

then we could head up the road to the Paramount Racetrack that I discovered has been right in front of me on a daily basis... I took quattroforlife scouting the other day and we checked it out. Huge area to park for photo ops. A giant covered area to sit and eat. And...history all around you... One of America's most challenging racetracks, shut down after only 18 months because of three fatalities. Sure it's overgrown and torn up in spots but it's pretty amazing that there are the remnants of a racetrack right here in the Santa Monica mountains. Just a thought....[:D]

The direction is correct. They are going over the bridge down the straight towards T1, then they show footage of them coming round T3 and heading for the underpass.

Somehow!!! there are no pictures... but Blizzard (what I affectionately call my track-storming wagon [:)]) drove in with a solid sheet of ice on the hood and roof. Strangest of holiday miracles occurred when I went to use the head. I came back to snow on Blizzard... SNOW! in the SFV?!..... Bet you didn't know Avants had an available snow-blower option.....

The guys had me going until I saw the pile of snow behind them...next to the ice rink[>_<]

I want to thank everyone who came out. Great turnout! 26 Audi's lined up was pretty impressive. The threat of rain kept most "lesser" marques out of the canyons. I'm sure pictures and video will start trickling in soon. I can't wait to download all the cams.[:D]

Also, for those of you that missed out on Paramount Ranch, where we walked the old racetrack (what's left of it) and explored the western town set, We will definitely make that a future stop as well. Once it warms up a bit, it's a great place to bring the family and let the kids run around exploring.

We did have some confusion with a few people getting lost but I think we managed to get most people back on track. A HUGE Thank You!!! to quattroforlife for his tireless efforts to backtrack and find lost people and guide them to us. Thank you to quattroforlife, Owoodee, and Piston for your invaluable help herding the group through the canyons. As always, thanks to Dustin for graciously giving us the front rows at the SCS show.

Unfortunately we did have an accident on the cruise...an unsuspecting squirrel tried to cross the road while we were just beginning Latigo and it experienced (what I hope was) a quick and painless death by way of getting pancaked by my front right tire.
