I was curious to the offset of your 20's I just picked up a set of WCI MT10 3 piece wheels that are 20x10.5 et12 rear and et 18 front. I am on air and am wondering if they are going to tuck or if the rears are going to sit on lip. Please respond quickly so I can cancel my order if they are too low of offset

Those offsets should be fine honestly you might still need a small spacer to dial the fitment down a little tighter depending on tire stretch and what you desire.

I ran 19x10 et 5 and 19x10 et 10 and my rear fitment was spot on, the front tucked ever so slightly.

Google will they fit and plug in my numbers with your new wheels numbers and see what it comes up.

Anyone bagged running 20" and not tucking wheel? I am trying to decide 19" versus 20" because I dont want to tuck the wheel. I plan on sitting it flush to the fender, but as far as I can see this doesn't seem possible on a 20" as it just gets tucked down way to much.

Granted I know only a handful of us are bagged on here but anyone got any experience with this?

This a bagged b8 series car with a 20" wheel see how the fender tucks the upper edge of the wheel? I am trying to achieve it so my fender stops at the top of the fender when I am fully aired out and I wanna say going with a 19" is the only way?

Love that custom finish! Nice job. Spacers would change the look at lot for the better, and I would recommend the KW HAS. They are a good $400 over the H&R, but they ride so much better, and you can adjust the ride height.

So as a new owner of an S5 I have been digging through this thread looking at all the photos because I want to add a more custom touch to my newest car but I do have a question that I am hoping someone can help me with. I have had and still have plenty of high performance cars but I still do not get the "dropped" look, where the gap between the tire and the wheel well is asymmetrical. It looks incredibly tacky to me. I know that opinions are like rectums but is there a good reason for this other than the insignificant performance gain from a marginally lower center of gravity? I do see that several people have run with a more uniform gap which is what I am looking for but with all of the modifications I am planning on doing to this particular car any significant performance gains carry a lot of weight. Not to mention I will appreciate the performance oriented gains on every FRS I see.

I'll give it a shot but I don't think they will ever look like the last shot when mounted on the car, that's only because they're facing straight up with the mid-day sun. On the car you shouldn't get direct sunlight like that.

Sorry no photoshop here, but the color looks great in the shade, not so good in the light. I hate to say it but I would have them refinished. Brushed matte and tinted would be my choice with your dark car.

Yeah that's the problem. I'm the one who picked out the color based on an Instagram post by flow form. Kept comparing the 2 side by side, and came out with that.

I'd hate to drop another $400 into making them darker. But I'm really afraid of how they'll look in the sun

So i tried to color match the first picture since the car looks like it was photographed under some warmer light so that's just my guess, take it with a grain a salt. Maybe try jacking up your car and installing a wheel with no tire to see how it looks in the sun but under the relative shade of the wheel well?

This is exactly what I wanted to see. I may do as you said, a quick test fit.

If not, I'm going get them in a satin bronze and being done with it.

Maybe try jacking up your car and installing a wheel with no tire to see how it looks in the sun but under the relative shade of the wheel well?

Thank you so much!!

Personally I'm partial to bronze wheels (always have been), but you already paid to have them painted grey might as well test fit them just to be 100%. Who knows it may look pretty decent and you can run the slate grey for a little while, then when you get tired of them "refresh" them to bronze. If they really look that bad then go ahead and recoat them bronze right away

I did a little googling of the color code, RAL 7015 (slate grey), and I found this fella with a maxima. They just poke out so damn much as an unfinished wheel. I'd hate to spend the money on putting my tires on them, to hate them, to take the tires off, to get them painted.

SO I bought some brand new 19x9.5 HRE FF01. They were black, so I got them powder coated to RAL7015, Slate Gray. Today I went pick them up and they looked like clay in the sun. I'm really worried to throw my tires on them and risk absolutely hating them. Photoshop anyone? Save me some money?!

It's a great wheel and light. But the color just doesn't mesh with the black car.

You can tell its a reiger by the fitment

I just got mine from reiger too. Fitment is almost perfect

Instructions arent really necessary. Pretty self explanatory

lol

the older reiger bumpers were notorious for having horrible fitment. you can tell by the pic he posted where his bumper and fender meets. its not smooth and curvy.

im pretty lucky that mine came almost perfect. maybe after all these years, they finally revised the mold!

I still plan to lower my car, but figured I would still put my wheels on. Also kinda contemplating some sort of mild accents so the car & wheels don't look totally murdered out. Just not sure what would be a complimenting item for the car other than S5 mirrors, or..... something, ....I guess I have some work cut out for me, other than a lowering job[wrench] Also going to "try" 5mm wheel spacers for the rear wheels.... Pardon the dirt, haven't had a chance to wash my car with all the rain lately. (The tires still have dried soap on them from mounting them on the wheels. Driving me crazy that the rain hasn't washed some away.)

Wheels: XO Wheels
Size: 19x10
Tires: 255/35/19ZR

Black wheels just get lost on your color car, you don't see the wheels at all, you need something that pops out but I just can't see gray and gold going together. I think a red would look pretty cool and stand out.

Hey all, I don't think I've shared my wheel and tire spec in this thread before. I know these aren't uncommon specs but maybe the tire fitment isn't that common. Just in case it might help someone with fitment on their V8 S5!

Specs below but here too:

Tires: NITTO INVO 285/30/20
Suspension: H&R OE SPRINGS
WHEELS: VOSEEN CV5 20x10.5 ET30
Spacers: ECS TUNING 5mm in the rear

Some things to note that may help:
Previous tire 275/30 NITTO Invo looked nicer, but didn't tuck in the rear. I think 265/30 would have tucked but didn't risk. Plus 265 are far and few in between.

I ran the 275/30 on this wheel on H&R OE SPRINGS prior and it was pretty flush with no issues.

I am looking for some help with fitting winter wheels.

I happen to have a set of 18" O.Z. Canova wheels from another vehicle (non-Audi). By default I am thinking to sell my winter set and find something for the Audi.
The wheel: http://www.ityre.com/en/disks/catalog/oz/4854/
However, I started wondering if those wheels actually could fit?

What I know about the wheel:
18x8
40 offset
79/67 hub adapter

8" is narrower than my 19" summers. Sufficient for winter?
Probably too much offset?
I imagine the hub adapter could be replaced?

Had some bad experiences with potholes in the Chicago area. Prefer the extra rubber with 18". Also might be better for car washes in the winter.
Turns out I can't use my old wheels due to different wheel PCD. So, I will be on the hunt for a used or new set.

I prefer a squared set up but I came across a deal that I couldn't turn down. Found a set wheels for a steal in 20x8.5 et35 front, and 20x10 et35 rear. I'm relatively new to the Audi scene, and new to the forum as well. I've been through every page of this wheel forum tryng to find a common set up. Seems like the target et on 20x10's is somewhere around 25 which would mean I would need a 10mm spacer for the rear. With the narrower fronts what would you suggest for a more flush fitment. I'll be running H&R sport springs purchased from a member here. Possible SPC upper control arms as well (If that matters at all). Haven't figured out how to post pics yet. I have a couple in my phone of the wheels but couldn't get them to upload. Also will be running 275/30/20 in the rear, and 255/30/20 for the fronts.

I am new to Audi coming from Mercedes. I want to go with squared setup of RC10 20x10 because I really like the concave look. Rohana is showing offsets available in 33mm and 18mm. Clearly the 18mm will give me the deepest concave but will the wheels poke beyond my fenders. I know guys on here with this particular wheel have ran 20x11 ET28.
I will also be lowering the car on coilovers after mounting wheels.

I know where that shop is! lol i live down the road and use them for everything i can. Side note, what is a good staggered 19 in fitment, or does the et vary widely because of setup(concavity and such) never done wheels before, but am thinking about getting something beefy for the rear end especially once JHM comes out with their high bias diff lol

Sounds like you may have bought A4/S4 wheels. Someone should double check me but I think you would need something like 35mm

Are you sure ET48 is correct? First, I'd want 275 rubber. Either way, that is super weak if correct. You'll want to max out and go 25mm front and 30mm rear, and hope you're pleased.

Mops@SupremePower - ET48 is correct. I felt 275 rubber would be too much rubber so wanted to go 265/30/20 but no luck finding that size in All Season. thanks for the info on the spacers though. I had a strong feeling that would be sizes I would need. hopefully it looks decent. Will post pics after this weekend!

I actually ran 255/35. If you look back at my first set on the A5. The RS4 style. 20x9 ET40 with 15/20 on 255/35.

You could have spacers custom made by 44 draft. 33/37 would be ideal.

I did see that set up during my search and really liked the look. I don't want too much of an aggressive look or for wheels to poke out. So I'm guessing 25f and 30r will probably do the trick but I hope it does affect the ride quality. I've ordered the H&R DRAs 25f and 35r.

For a 9.5 inch wide wheel you probably want to aim for an ET 17, or an ET 42 if you use your current spacer setup.

Is that the only offset in that width? Do they have anything around an ET 42?

Mine had them too. They all come with them. They're a SS rim guard. So if you curb, you pop the damaged one off, replace, and you're new again for $80 :)

I'm running 18x9.5 et 15 all around, I had 255/40's on them last year but they didn't line up with the body, like I was hoping
Leaning towards running a wider tire that would square up with the wheel well, wondering what would be a nice meaty size, 275/35?

Also the cars lowered on H&R Sports
25 3/4" to the fender front and back

I'm not a fan of the stretched look on a car that isn't slammed.

Cheers,

Hello. I posted pics on this thread with a setup similar to what you want. I think I have reporsted the pics correctly above, if not, Look at Post # 1673, on page 42 of this thread. My Black S5 with Avant Garde wheels in Matte Gray. 19x9.5 all around with et20mm. In the pics, those are Continental tires 255/35R19. I have switched to a 265/35R19 all around and they have no problem with rubbing and are exactly flush front and rear. Mops here on this forum has advised me I can throw a 3mm spacer in the rear to push them out a little more, maybe I will maybe not, I am thinking about selling these wheels and getting something else. Also, I have the H&R sport lowering springs. They are great, nice firm ride but daily driver friendly. Let me know if you have any questions.

Hey guys,

I didn't want to read through 44 pages so I'm sorry if this is a redundant question:

I'm looking to purchase my first set of non-stock wheels and tires. I'm interested in the pros and cons of 8.5 width vs 9.5 width. Or running 8.5's in the front and 9.5's in the rear. What's your opinion and experience with this?

Thanks,

Majority is for looks. A 8.5 wheel would be better for winter. 9.5 gives more concave depending on the profile of the wheel

As long as ur offsets are proper to accommodate the stagger effect ur good

So the extra surface area of the 9.5's doesn't make a noticeable difference in grip or handling or cornering?

The wheels I'm looks at have an offset of 35mm for the 8.5's and 45mm for the 9.5's. Would that be adequate without spacers for an S5 B8.5?

Def needs spacers. Will need about 20-25mm to remain flush

I mean i dont think much ppl here pushes the car to the limits where they notice a diff in performance of a 8.5 wheel vs 9.5. I dont notice it but i only do street driving

Awesome.
Thanks for the advice!
I'll definitely take it into consideration when deciding.

So what's the stock offset for a stock 18x8.5 S5 B8.5 wheel? ET29? Wouldn't that mean I need 10mm spacers (at most) on a ET35 wheel to get as close as possible to flush?

No worries. This stuff is cake once you get your head around it. Only took me about 5 years [:p]

No issues at all. With my 5, I always ran at least 3mm more at the rear, and usually 5mm.

Terrible pics, but said 9.5 ET36 with 15mm front and 20mm rear on 275 with a 25mm drop.

Just to recap;

For a 19x8.5 wheel with a ET35, the spacers needed to have the wheel flush with the bumper would be 20/25. Correct?

If possible, would you recommend I go with a 20/22 or 22/25 since I've heard the front to read difference is closer to 3mm? Or does the 5mm difference look best?

Sorry for all the questions. I just don't want to waste time and money on the wrong spacers.

Guys I need your advice please.

I ordered a set of Ace Alloys AFF02 in a 19x9.5" fitment and an ET35 offset. I received instead a set of 19x9.5 in ET20 offset.

My plan is to put on 275/30/19 tires ... possibly some aggressively wide tires ala R888 or RE71.

I'll be lowered no more than 1" ... track lower not stanced look. I dont plan on more than 2 degrees neg camber.

I'll be driving very aggressively including hitting track kerbs so the suspension will definitely be compressing.

Is the 19x9.5 ET20 with 275/30/19 in wide R888 rubber going to be ok without rubbing in these conditions?

Thanks a bunch.

Mike

Mops@Nemesis

I'm thinking it worked out pretty well, Mike. With a 25mm drop, -2 and 275, you should be perfect.

I did 20x9.5 ET21 front and ET16 rear on 275 dropped 25mm, and never once touched. And I'm an aggressive driver.

Thanks very much for taking the time to reply. I appreciate it. Now the r888 can run .5 inch or more wider than other 275 tires. Strange but true. So I have to ask, were you close or was there some wiggle room?

Thanks again.
