OK, When i'm pumping gas no matter what angle i hold the nozzle in it stops pumping as if it topped off.. I have to barely depress the handle so that it wont stop.. It takes forever to fill the tank.. If i listen closely i can here like an escaping air noise building till it stops..

Has this happened to anyone?.. any ideas?..

yeah, same thing happened to me. There's a hose on the driver rear side under the car that lets fume pressure exit the gas tank, in my case it collapsed. Check out the hose/tube, its one of the tubes running to the charcoal unit underneath the gas tank. I cut the the hose so that the pressure has somewhere to exit, not environmentally friendly solution but it worked.

Wow thanx.. I'm not sure what im looking at under there.. Any way to get a picture or description?... So its the build up of pressure that triggers the gas pump?

If you dont want to do that i used to pump gas yes i live in that state haha but if you get a pen or something like that and stick in under the rubber part that covers your tank so that it kind of breaks the seal it does the same thing they were talking about it just gives the fumes somewhere to escape.

Haha like the rubber gusset around the actual metal part of the nozzle that slips over your tank* intake

Iffff there is the rubber gusset if not you have to do what they said above and figure out a way to let it vent

It sounds like a clogged tank vent valve or charcoal canister situation. Could be a valve that is clogged so it won't open or a vent line that is clogged or (as previously mentioned) has collapsed. As a quick fix you can probably just disconnect the vent line before it enters the charcoal canister and bypass the entire system - venting your poisonous earth-killing fumes directly to fresh, clean air.

How hard are these lines and this canister to get to?.. do i need to jack up the car?

The problem I had was that the pump would stop at 3/4 full everytime and this happened at every Chevron station that I try to filled up at. My car is CPO, so I took it in earlier this week and they said, the charcoal canister was clogged; they replaced it and said that I shouldn't have this problem at the pump anymore.

I just got the car back yesterday, so I haven't tried to fill my gas tank yet, but here are the parts that they replaced.

I had the same issue...I' CPO had both pumps replaced in the tank and still had issues...so they replaced my fuel tank as well.
so far so good...but I doubt it will last. I will ask them to look at the charcoal fitler next.
