Well its going to cost about 100 bucks a wheel to get that done so I would just wait and invest in new wheels. You PS aint the best but it could look good....

After the PS those wheels like VW LB's.

If you're going to go black I think it look best with a gloss and not flat like your PS picture.

Where are your Titanium wheels?

??? i dont have the titanium package.

as far as price i have some friends that painted them by themselves with no issues just costs for paint. it would be flat black and yes i would have spacers on front and back. thanks guys

haha its all about imagining those wheels flat black, not 100% basing your opinion on how they look in that picture, i think it looks sick but the caps have to be painted also

Maybe he painted it?

...and he has an 05.5....don't think there was a "Titanium" package then.

get new rims man... i think 17's are too small for these cars. I have 18's and they still look small. When i can afford it i'll be going 19.

If you can get it done cheap, I think it will look good in the meantime until you get new wheels. But, the center cap still in gray/chrome bothers me about the pic. Maybe mask off the center and do that in gloss black to contrast with the flat black, like this:

the rings pop out of the center cap. i say go for a black/grey theme it will look good and should hold you over until you can pick up new wheels. definitely an inexpensive and easy diy. this is my winter setup:

ahhhh come on can't just pop on one wheel up front to take a few pics? looks really good though from what i can tell. what did you use as far as paint and actually painting it.

thanks, i would but that pic was from months ago, wheels are now in storage. the wheels were curbed pretty bad which was really the only thing that made me decide to paint them. basically process was:

sand
fill with bondo
sand
clean with water and dish soap
rustoleum metal primer about 3 light coats
rustoleum flat black about 4 light coats
center cap was done with a rustoleum red

more pics of the process (http://www.flickr.com/photos/23819959@N02/sets/72157605270583325/) can be seen here.

with winter approaching wheels will definitely be on by end of the month. to get back to the op i say go for it. very easy and inexpensive diy, if you don't like the way they turn out you're gonna get new wheels anyway [wrench]

only thing stopping me is i dont know how long it will be before i get rims probably months. and also i dont want to have to sell the car down the road with diy'ed rims with depreciation.

haha wow sorry guys. My apologies i just saw my post and i didint remember it....but seriously i do like the idea. The red and black on the A3 looks very cool....but i would only do it if you didint have the money for new wheels.
