Just got the CEL and threw code p0118 which tells me I need to change the coolent temp sensor. Does anyone know where the hell it's located on the 3.0 V6 in a 02 A6 Quattro? I have heard it's on the back side of the engine, passenger side head but I pulled the air tube and can't see anything back there that resembles this sensor. HELP! Thanks.

if you don't find an answer check the B6 forum theres probably more 3.0 guys there
It's located in the top rear edge of the engine. Close to the firewall slightly to the passenger side. It is plumbed into a black metal pipe (coolant distribution pipe) and has a circlip that holds it into a recessed socket. The harness is a 4-pin.
You should know that Audi recently (this past winter) mailed letters to V6 owners regarding the ECT sensor and it being covered by Audi should it fail or throw codes.
I recommed that you call AoA and check to see if you are covered because your P0118 code is directly related to the ECT sensor.[;)]
