Hey guys, I just got an APR chip for my 2000 A6 2.7t 6 speed with the 93 and 100 octane tunes and I now have a nasty surge/hesitation/boost leak. I can clearly hear the turbos blowing off boost at like 3k and then power stops. It runs idles perfect and revs fine in neutral and 1st but after that it cuts out. I am thinking boost leak but what do you guys think?

did it start doing that right away, or some time after you got the chip done... if it was sometime after, then i really sounds like a boost leak... extra boost created by the chip blew a hose or something

Yah, It was perfect when I garaged it and today I chipped it and immediately it began surging. I just made an appointment for it at the Audi dealer to have the boost system leak tested. Any other insight? Thanks!

Throttle body boot is prone to failure on the 2.7T motor. The increase in pressure is typically too much that part (and it always fails in the same spot). Samco makes a silicone replacement part and APR makes a bipipe that replaces the top clip of pipes with a single aluminum pipe. (I got the bipipe)

Also your diverter valves will probably go bad soon if they are stock.

You really should consult the B5 S4 forums for anything regarding the 2.7 Motor

BI-pipe & new diverter valves with a K&N and your car will feel like i best from what i hear
but thats usually the main problem if you chip your car with out getting a bi-pipe & diverter valves

It turned out to be a ripped throttle body boot. A new one will be here tomorrow and I am in the process of buying new dv's. Thanks everyone!
