Seriously guys/gals, I was expecting some type of news on Big Turbo Kits besides KO4 bolt-ons, etc.

I was expecting to see a thread or forum dedicated to B7 BT Kits and all kinds of feedback from people who are now pushing big HP. I've been peeking my head into the B8 and A5 forums here and there because I'm kinda bored with my B7.

I'm dissapointed?[=(]

Anyhow, just wanted to vent to you all a little bit.
All The Best!

AWE is about to release a B7 BT Kit. They have a test car with it already on there. Also, STaSIS is in the process of making one for our cars as well.

There haven't even been any updates for the AWE kit at all....

Read the post about them selling stop tech stuff. It's in there. Nice try though.

BTW...Remember when Jeremy Roenick scored the 2OT goal against Toronto to send the Flyers to the Eastern Conf. Finals? [:D]

The market for 2.0T B7 A4's is pretty small... despite all of the ranting on Audizine about the kits, only a handful of people will really fork over to pick one up.

The transverse mounted 2.0T in the VW GTI and A3 is more suitable for a BT due to more room in the engine bay. The demand from mkV drivers is also considerably higher. Although AWE has a prototype in a B7 A4, I would not count on it hitting the market. AWE is an excellent company and I fully support them, but I also understand the thin market they would be getting into with a B7 A4 BT kit and why we haven't seen one yet. Their prototype was introduced over a year ago...

It's hard to make a kit like this at a reasonable price. Think about how much bitching went on when the K04 kit came out from APR... $4k+ is a lot of money for most of us to throw into our cars. Don't expect a BT kit to be cheaper. It's really hard to develop a cost effective aftermarket turbo for these cars at an attractive price when the turbo is cast into the exhaust manifold.

I hate to be the devil's advocate... I'm just not getting my hopes up.

don't forget about the VF Engineering kit. I have been n contact with them and they are already working on it with their in house B7. Yes, John is right don't expect them to be cheaper you will only be fooling yourself. IMHO it will be well worth it.

cheers!

Im sure the market is there. companies seem to be selling a lot of BT kits for the B6's, so why not the B7s

you have it ALL wrong man. all wrong.

you think that BT kits just started jumping out for the B5 and B6 guys? no. there was years of trial and error(still is actually) before there were proven, cost effective kits. and there is still new hardware and software coming out every year. people are just barely starting to build their motors and throw on GT30 and bigger turbo's on the B6. and that generation has been out for 6+ years!

integrated exhaust manifold? please. that doesn't mean 2 shits. if you're going BT, you're upgrading the manifold already. last i checked, ATP already had a cast iron exhaust manifold for the B7 block..

if you guys are really that anxious, then work on it yourselves. im sure a tuner(Revo/EPL/ASP/etc) would love to work with you.

go buy a manifold, turbo, FMIC, etc and go to a shop to have them start work on a base map. they'll work with you over the next while and in a few months time im sure you guys will have some awesome software to offer to the public. they will love this because they don't have to spend any money on a car, hardware, etc. just their time and dyno usage(or street tuning which is better anyways). then they get to reap the benefits of right to the software. this is how the B5 and B6 kits were started. it's called HOMEBREW!

and the demand will be there. it's going to take a year or more though. people need more money. this is the exact thing that happened to the B6 guys. the B5 guys had all the turbo setup's and software. and the B6 had nothing because it was new and had no demand. now the B6 has just as much, if not more, of an aftermarket demand than the B5.

and generally when people buy the latest entry level audi, they don't have too much spare cash lying around. as opposed to some rich guy that just paid cash for his RS4. or some punk kid that can buy a B5 for 4 grand and have 10 grand left over for mods.. give it time, the market will grow

Im running a GT28r. Big enough?

BTW: The ATP manifold wont accept anything larger than a K04 otherwise the turbo will hit the motormounts. Thats what I first tried before having one made.

Everyone has forgotten the VAST BT kit. Up to 450 crank HP with internals done. Or 400 crank HP without. First run 13.2 on the quarter and 107mph on a quattro.

I know that APR is "in the works" for a BT kit for our B7's
