I went with SLYCAT up to Jakaro's place in Coulmbia, SC. He took care of most of that as I know very little about wiring. It was pretty simple, but we needed some advice from umnitza as we were going along. The look mean in person!

I would also like to know how you wired the little bastards ;-) Looks real nice and I though it would look like a ugly beemer... It does NO such thing, the LED's gives it a personal touch.
Good Job!

Props on the LED Angel Eyes, they look hot! But didn't you black out the housings? I thought in the second pic you painted the chrome black, or was that something else?

Either way, congrats on the lights. I got my projectors in and plan on ordering those from Unmitza as well.

please explain the angel eyes/halo install from the umnitza parts

The install was pretty simple. All you need to do is just follow the clear corner DIY mod, to get the bumper off. Follow the CC DIY to get the headlights open. Apoxy the Angel Eyes to the area around the headlight. But put the wires that come off the angel eyes and go to the power source through the side piece of the headlight that pops open. Then all you need to do is just wire it up. I'm not sure how to do it. But I could probably get insturctions from the guy who did. I'll work on writing something up.

IMO - it would stand out more if it's running independantly w/o the DRL.

Tap a separate power source from the fuse box and run it through a switch, shouldn't be hard at all.

Good job nevertheless [up]

Those arent' the DRL. They are the city lights and whenever the lights come on at night, that does as well. I will be changing that over to LED...Or I wonder if I could just lose that bulb all together??? I'll figure something out. Thanks!

If you run it to a separate power source and switch then you don't need to turn the headlights switch on to power = no city lights

Get yourself one of these and run it to the LED power cable:

It's however you want to do it... you can probably cut the citylights and connect it directly to your LED Halos... as long as you don't throw a bulb out warning or if you don't care... go for it.

I am the guy who installed them.

here you can see my arm as I am wiring:

[wrench][up]

The install was very simple. The halo's came with a lengthy, pre-wired harness, that I mounted just behind the faux-firewall. It comes with an inline fuse on the power side, and a 2 pole relay. I used one pole(single red-white wire) for the signal, which I spliced into his city light power wire, and left the other pole(single brown) open. The power/ground wires come with connectors installed to mount on the accessory terminals on the battery. I ran the harness through an unused grommet just behind the exhaust side of the motor, over the airbox, and to each headlight. If done correctly, and with the use of small zip-ties, no wiring is visible with the hood opened.

I will say, the wrong size connector was used in the relay main power wire(it was an 8 ga. wire in a 12-14 ga. connector I believe). That was easily fixed with a set of crimp tools to secure the wire.

I trimmed the clips off of the halo's provided and epoxied them to the inner housing. They have a black and white wire(visible in the first set of pics) that you can run back and down into the smaller opening for the high beam bulb. Then close the cover over the wire.

What kind of bulbs do you B7 guys use for the city light?

The Merc. R-class has the same bulb, but with a xenon match tint. That's what I picked up since I work at a Benz dealer.

the LED cable comes with a fuse, so all you would need is a switch, and the wire from the cabin.

You did a great job! The lights look awesome all the time. I just need get rid of that city light some how. I'm not sure which one it is..I'm sure we could find out. Changing it out, however could be a bitch. I've heard that you don't need to remove the bumper. I also may be able to get some really good pics in the next couple of days.

to change the city light, you pop off the side cover(the one I ran the wires through) and reach up into the housing, it is a blue and brown wire. find the socket and twist, it pulls right out.

i dont know if it will come on for just the city light.

you can get the xenon match city's and not have a problem

thanks gary, thats what PS is for, to make us spend more money.

supreme power parts started selling lamin-x if you want them. i was thinking of getting the headlights, which come with the fogs. i dont have fogs cause of the FMIC, so if they are the same Dia. you can have em.

Bumping the thread in need of an answer. Assuming we have the CC mod done and the parking lights off, will wiring the angel eyes to the parking lights not work then?
