After the group buy for stasis coilovers failed I decided to use that money that I had saved up to get my car chipped and take advantage of the APR sale that is ending today. I got the full ecu upgrade. I was a little hesitant getting my car chipped due to all the problems that members have recently been complaining about. But I did it anyways [:/]. I figure as long as I dont abuse my car 24/7 then I'm good. When I left the shop I had the car on Octane 91 and the car was smooth and pulled pretty well [cool]. It felt like my flashed RSX-S when I had it. Then I switched it to 93 and wow what a difference [O_O]. Plenty of torque and pulls pretty smooth and hard at the same time. It even made my gf smile heeheh. So over all so far its been worth the money hopefully I dont get any problems anytime soon as I am hoping to keep this car at least for four years.

Just a quick question, how much psi does 91 and 93 have. Also, would it be ok if I switch to 91 and 93 often (say like every couple of days) or will that mess up the computer of the car. Would it be better to set it at one program 90% of the time. I know that it takes a day or so for the car to fully adapt when you chip your car. Would the octane 93 program do damage quicker than if you have octane 91 set all the time? Thanks guys.

You can switch it but the 93 is ment to run on 93 octane gas so be sure to empty out your 91 tank before switching

You just might up having the very common issues discussed in these forums if you're chipped no matter how you drive. PCV failing, DV breaking, possible cam lobe wear, breather hose leak. Those types of things.

Are you really switching between 91 & 93 with the same tank full of gas?

Yah I still troll around at clubrsx sometimes. I had good times with that car.

I'm using sunocco 94 so its good for 93 and 91. I was initially just going to get octane 91 but with the apr sale I ended up getting everything. So I was wondering if I ride apr 91 does that mean I'm doing less damage than if I ride with apr 93? Does apr 91 use less psi than apr 93?

I don't have APR91, but my APR93 spikes at about 18psi

Hi oakenfolde, that was my dream, a big turbo rsx-s. I was so close to doing that to my type s but backed out of it. Yah I love the awd especially in winter. And now that my b7 is chipped I love the power as well. Would like more but in canada cops are really hard core. They'll take your car away if your caught doing 150km/hr. How many whp was your rsx-s?

Thanks phrost for the answer. So basically running octane 93 is doubling our stock psi. I believe our stock psi is 8 right? Wish I knew what 91's psi was.

Stock psi is sround 10 psi .. ive seen it spike like 12psi ... 91 ive seen hit 20psi .. as well as 93 .. but rarely youll see a spike to 21 or 22 psi. Get a boost gauge with peak recall .... good stuff!

If you have 94 octane gas .. you should just keep it on the 93 program .. 91 is just gonna give you like 10hp to 16 hp less than the 93 octane program will. I recently mixed some 114 with 91 ( using proper formula to creat 93.6 octane. ) and switched to the 93 program and It felt really nice. More spunky than the 91. I can only imagine the 100 octane program must feel even better.
