One month with my RS4 and my tips are already charred. What's the best way to clean them?
I'm thinking Simple green might do the trick. Any other suggestions?
Thanks.

Wash them and then use Adam's Metal polish 1 and 2 on them and it should be good. Regular maintenance is a must.
Let me know if you need some.

Shoot. I guess I should have ordered some with my last purchase. I guess I'll get some when I get detail spray refill.
I'll try to keep them relatively clean until then with simple green I guess.
Thanks.

Are they aluminum?--- I'm not sure.
But I would stay away from Simple Green because it's been well documented to 'whiten' aluminium, and 'dull' the sheen and gloss of metals over time with repeated use.
Good luck!

Thanks for the response. I'm glad I checked before using simple green. I haven't even received my first adam's shipment yet, and I already have a new list building.

Use a good metal polish, made for chrommed metal, or stainless/aluminum as the case may be.

I used to be an avid fan of simple green. After researching it on autopia.org, I now only use it under the hood or in the wheel wells.
I've used eagle one's never dull with great success on exhaust tips. Just be careful that the wadding doesn't have any contaminates in it.

What if you have no idea how long your tips have been charred? I got mine like that. Any way to restore it to brand-new looking without buying a... brand new exhaust?

try any metal polish. mothers and never dull can both be found at your local auto store.

It won't strip off the finish or anything crappy like that?

nope. Read the directions on the box or container. It's quite simple.
