After running for more than a year a set of gt2554's in my A4/S4,

After rebuiltind the engine this witer with forged rods, new rings, 2.8L heads with 2.8 cams, supertech valvetrain.

I took it up even further yesterday, I ordered a pair of gt2871rs to feed my 2.7L.

I'll keep you guys posted cause my car after all is still an A4.

thanks for including us cant wait to see updates. also if you did all that machine work, new pistons rods and what not, what kept you from upping the displacement? i know nothing about the 2.7 and how much room there is to do this but just curious.

Ya but going this way is serious money.

You need a b6 3.0L crank, custom rods and custom piston ( almost 4000$ here )

I did only rods, with stock 1.8t pispons ( cost about 1500$ including labor and balancing )

The money I saved on the bottom end, I invested about 1300$ in my heads.

My 2.7L will redline at 8200 rpm, it will largely compensate for staying a 2.7L instead on going 3.0L.

You can rebore an push it to 2.8L but again you have to spend about 1400$ for a set of je pistons... Spending 1400$ to get 0.1 more in displacement is ridiculous...( When the block is fine)

Stock are forged mahle and will handle 150hp per cylinder with no problems...

A compressor, a gun and a gallon of black paint.

I will re-shoot it this spring with dupont flat urethane. It washes better cause its non porous...

Thanks man, I even get it sometimes cause my car is originally an A4. Some of the guys are against swapped car, but trust me they are gonna get spaked really bad by this A4.

As an update on my situation, my guy at the local machine shop called me today saying that 2 of my pistons were damaged on top of the rings. Cylinders looked fine but, I just ordered a set of JE pistons wich are gonna be 82.5mm coated top and skirts.

Compression ration is gonna drop to 8.5

In doing this, I changed my mind on turbos, it wasnt too late. I'm ordering a set of gt2860rs (disco potato) turbos.

Block will be the a 2.8L, you see I'm getting closer of beeing an original A4.....
