SRP Pedals for B5 S4/RS4 - Audizine Discount

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hello,
My name is Brian and my company is SRP. www.srpracing.com We are an Audizine forum sponsor. SRP has been specializing in racing pedals since 1995. I do hope you will find the time to look over our many options as we have pedals for all budgets and for all purposes. Our pedals are made to fit your vehicle specifically. You do have to drill holes to mount the pedals. Once installed, they are a part of your car with no chance of coming off. Our pedals are designed for performance enthusiasts, offering much improved heel toe placement and the highest levels of grip. We have sold quite a few of these to Audi enthusiasts through the years, but usually through dealers and other channels, so you might not recognize our name. Our pedals are for people that are into performance and want something more than the factory options.
    ------------------------------------
I’ll give you the most often asked info right here, the pricing:
The retail price starts around $69 for the Machined finish set, no footrest. Some cars are higher.
    The Satin finish adds +$10.
The Grid, Block, and Cleat finish add +$50
    ------------------------------------
Instead of doing a group buy (who wants to wait?), I have set up a discount coupon for Audizine.com Forum users.
Just enter: audizine while checking out for 20% off.

    ------------------------------------
I have made the footrest optional to get the cost down for those that just want the performance pedals. The footrest adds around $40 retail to the price.
    ------------------------------------
You can now get the Grid machining on the gas and/or the footrest for no charge. We also now offer the Grid trim ring option for no charge. Pictures of both options can be found below.
    ------------------------------------
We have 5 different surface finishes to choose from.

The following pictures are to show the different surface finishes. The Satin and Grid are the most popular.

    GRID +$50

The first picture above is of Porsche 996 pedals. The two following pictures are of Audi pedals.

    SATIN +$10

    MACHINED

    BLOCK +$50

    CLEATS +$50

    ------------------------------------
After many years of people asking how the grip compares to factory, and me telling them they are great, I finally got around to doing some testing to show just how much grip they do have. Below are the results of the testing. Just to clarify, the wet test was NOT done with water, but with Armor All. We wanted to do a worst case scenario type test.

Also, just to clarify, we used to make our Grid pedals with flat tops, instead of pointy tops. After doing this testing we have switched all our Grid pedals to the "Pyramid" pointy top style.

    DRY

    WET

    ------------------------------------
You can also order the pedals in Black anodized. This adds $20.

On the Grid and Block pedals we can re-countersink the holes after anodizing for $25 (including the anodizing).

    ------------------------------------
Picture from an Audizine members car.

    ------------------------------------
I have added some new options to our website. You can now order the Grid machining on the gas and footrest, NO CHARGE. We also now offer the trim ring on the Grid pedals, NO CHARGE. Both of these options are shown below.
    ------------------------------------
Porsche 996 pedals with the Grid machining on the gas pedal and the trim ring, both NO-COST options.

I keep adding info to my introduction post and it's getting out of control and hard to follow, so I apologize. The following pictures are of Porsche pedals, so they are a bit different from Audi pedals, but they will give you an idea of what to expect. Hopefully I'll be able to get some Audi pictures very soon with the trim rings.

This picture compares our standard Grid pedal to one with the trim ring.

This picture shows a brake and gas pedal with the trim ring option.

This picture shows the pedals with the trim ring and Grid machining on the gas pedal.

well hello mr brian, Let me give you some advice..

Find a way to engrave the S4 logo on the pedal and people will buy the piss out of them.

They use to have them like that back in like 05.. People bought them like hot cakes and havealways been asking for them..Just my advice.

The newer S4 logo on either the Gas pedal or the stump plate.

Did you used to run/be involved with Startup Racing? They used to carry the same pedals (with the S4 Logo too). Anyway, the pedals are made by Autovation if this is the same thing (or a design based on those) and they are great pedals. I got a set a while ago and they actually feel more grippy when wet sometimes like my feet are stuck to the pedals. Highly recommended.

Back in the day we used to sell the pedals with logos. The pedals you refer to were made by us, and you are right, they sold like hot cakes. However, the manufacturers don't much care for using their logos without licensing, and they won't license pedals. So, we stopped.

The pedals really are a performance part. I began making pedals back in '95 as a performance part. They offer improved grip and heel toe sizing. Once installed, you can fine tune the height relationship between the gas and brake for even better heel toe. So, instead of relying on the "gimmick" of the logos, I've really tried to sell the pedals on their real value as driving aids. Many people buy them just for their looks, but the fact that they add to the driving experience is what sets them apart from some of the other pedals out there, including the factory "metal" ones.

Thank you for the recommendation. We make pedals for many companies. The bulk of our business is wholesale. This is why, even though we've been doing this since '95, the SRP name isn't too well known.

You are right about the grip. We did some pedal grip testing last year, with the results posted in the first post of the thread. Even with Armor All on the pedals the grip remained very high.

Re: SRP Pedals for B5 - Audizine Discount

Whatever the case is, the pedals are awesome. One of my favorite mods so far and a must for me because I really did not like the stock pedal layout. I honestly could care less about the logo as you said, I have them for functionality but I probably would've picked the logo option if it was available. One note to anyone who gets these, you should get the dead pedal too and when you install it, remove the stock plastic one first and there is a metal bracket under the carpet that you can tap the screws into to mount it. It is much cleaner and less ghetto looking than mounting it on top of the plastic stock pedal...

Which ones are you using? Are the most basic models still better then stock or just for looks?

    just ordered a set..

.. I have been in the market for a set of nice pedals and these seem to do the trick. I went with the Grid design + the Black Anodized with silver cutouts. I could care less about the logo.. I have enough // logos on my car..

Do these install over the rubber pedal covers or do you remove the stockers and drill into the stock metal pedals? I know newb question.

I use the basic satin ones...As I said they are a huge improvement to me over stock. The grip is amazing, especially when wet (obviously great when dry). Also, don't forget the extra extension on the left side of the gas pedal too. I got these purely for functionality and not for looks, although they look really nice too.

Remove stock rubber covers and drill into metal. One thing is, I would recommend not getting the anodized ones because they wear down eventually and it won't look as good as plain metal all the way around. I looked at a lot of pedals before I got mine and these are my favorite that I've seen...Don't like the rubber nubs that can fall off on a lot of the other designs out there...

    Brian,

I didn't notice any removal or mounting instructions on your site. Are these instructions available?

I am interested in the footrest also, but the plastic cover over mine doesn't seem to want to come off very easily, plus ther is a plastic clip covering the top, am I being too paranoid, anybody have advice there on removin the footrest cover?

In addition, is it safe to drill holes/screws through the existing footrest support, or are you supposed to install over/drill through the plastic over? I assume the rubber pedal covers are easy to remove.......any tips needed?

    Thanks.

The whole process is pretty simple...hardest part is drilling a few of the holes to hold the clutch and brake pedals. The stock dead pedal is held on by a couple screws and you have to remove the kick panel too. The rubber pedal covers just come off with some prying. Again, I highly recommend removing the stock dead pedal but if you are lazy, you can just screw the new one right on top of the stock one...

Do the pedals add more thickness to the gas pedal to get it closer in line to the brake pedal? What I feel weird is that the gas pedal is pretty far behind the brake so if I try to toe-heel it I can't comfortable jab the gas. No problems with the RX7 or the GTX.

No Problem...Whenever there is a great product out that I like, I will try to let people know about it (especially when there are other products that get a lot more attention but might not be as good).

The gas pedal is the only one that is mounted directly on top of the original pedal (since it's one piece that doesn't come apart) so it does add a bit more height. I mounted mine directly on and just lined it up the way I liked it and it added enough height for me. Some people have added spacers for more height which should be very easy to do.

Bee Five - your interior is MINT.

And SRP, your pedals look incredible. I have the Oettinger pedals which I like, but am still considering the switch. Very reasonable pricing, too.

Pedals with the updated Grid machining on the gas pedal. The pedals match very nice, but the gas pedal has far less grip than the brake pedal, allowing your foot to slide across it properly.

Very impressed with the machine work Fantastic products SRP.

I can really tell that you guys aren't just making a pretty product to sell, you are actually engineering them to work properly for real life use. It's refreshing to see there are still companies like this around.
